Psychologist, PhD, Licensed Psychologist
Many of the adults I work with are capable and managing a lot, but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or stretched too thin. You may be juggling work, family, or caregiving responsibilities while trying to stay on top of everything, but internally things feel harder than they should. My approach is thoughtful, direct, and focused. I listen carefully, but I also help you organize your thoughts, identify patterns, and make sense of what’s going on. Clients often tell me that sessions help them feel clearer and more able to handle what’s in front of them. Therapy is not meant to feel passive. The goal is to make meaningful progress over time. If you’re looking for a practical, steady approach to therapy, I’d be glad to connect.

Teletherapy, also known as online therapy or telehealth, offers numerous benefits and advantages for both therapists and clients. Teletherapy breaks down geographical barriers, allowing clients to access mental health services regardless of their location. This can be especially beneficial for individuals living in rural areas or areas with limited access to mental health resources. Teletherapy also offers convenience, as sessions can be conducted from the comfort of the client's home or any other location with internet access. This eliminates the need for travel time, transportation costs, and scheduling conflicts, making therapy more accessible and manageable for busy individuals.

Online therapy is such a wonderful opportunity to do deep and powerful therapeutic work in a way that is both convenient and secure. I want all my clients, online and in person, to feel the same warmth and compassion as we work through situations and experiences. In much of the same way that we do in person, my online work is based around building a supportive therapeutic relationship. In therapy, potential for healing and growth occurs through through the relationship that we build together. I really enjoy working with clients who are trying to figure out how to manage or explore the difficult feelings – sometimes anxiety and depression - that can emerge during self-exploration, identity development, life changes, working on relationship issues among monogamous and poly/ENM/CNM people, career or work shifts, LGBTQIA+ clients, and so much more. Work with me often involves exploring patterns, looking at the imprints of families of origin, and addressing ways in which those long past experiences come up in the present.

New York City, New York therapist: Paula Kirsch, licensed clinical social worker

Paula Kirsch

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, CST
Online therapy isn't a compromise. For the kind of work I do, it's often the better choice. When you're talking about the most personal parts of your life, desire, intimacy, identity, relationship dynamics, being in your own space matters. You're more comfortable, more yourself, and often more open than you'd be in a waiting room and an unfamiliar office. That's not a small thing. It's actually the whole thing. I work with individuals and couples navigating sexual concerns, intimacy issues, desire mismatches, and relational disconnection across New York, Connecticut, and Michigan. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Sex Therapist, and I bring genuine curiosity and deep clinical training to every session. Nothing you bring here will shock me or get pathologized. Sessions are secure, HIPAA-compliant, and available within about a week of reaching out.

Therapy doesn’t have to happen in an office to be meaningful. Sometimes, being in your own space actually makes it easier to settle in, be honest, and talk about the things that are harder to say out loud. I provide online psychotherapy for adults across Maryland and participating PSYPACT states. I work with people who are thoughtful, capable, and often pretty good at holding things together—but who are tired of carrying everything on their own. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and depth-oriented. We’ll look beyond the surface of what’s bothering you and get curious about the patterns underneath it—while keeping an eye on where you want to go from here.
