I love working with people online and the freedom it gives. It is not for everyone but in my experience most people are able to use the sessions just as well if not better than in person sessions. Most people enjoy the freedom online work gives them: we can connect from anywhere and it saves travel time.

Although it's different to working in person, we can connect deeply and see great shifts when we work together online. It's possible to address not only thoughts and feelings, but patterns of communication and somatic (body related) aspects of therapy effectively and safely. While you may prefer to meet in person, the option to meet online via Zoom (or your preferred platform) means that if you feel drawn to working together you're not limited to being within travel distance of London. Online flexibility can also work beautifully if you travel regularly travel for work or personal reasons.

London, England therapist: Birgit Schreiber Dr, psychologist
Feminist Therapy

Birgit Schreiber Dr

Psychologist, PhD and MA in Psychology
I deeply enjoy offering psychotherapy because it allows me to assist people to live a meaningful and fulfilling way with joy, resilience and growth. It’s an incredible privilege to create a safe and compassionate space where someone feels seen, heard, and understood, often for the first time. Being part of a journey where individuals uncover their inner strengths, navigate challenges, and gain a deeper understanding of themselves and reduce their symptoms and address problems is profoundly rewarding. I have 25 years of experience in psychotherapy (with PhD) and my approach is built on openness, acceptance and curiosity, and together we find ways to understand, manage, and change unhelpful patterns, overwhelming feelings, challenging conditions, or past experiences that can hold us back. I recommend an initial consultation to get to know each other. I pursue a multimodal therapy approach and have extensive knowledge in dealing with psychological, social, family and professional problems. My specialisations include, among others: • Stress management, coping strategies, and burnout prevention • Reactions to any stress, including relational, social, familial, personal, and professional • Anxiety disorders and related symptoms • Depressions and related challenges around mood • Challenges in professional life, especially during career changes and in leadership positions • Adjustment disorders, losses, separation, trauma, and other life changes • Problems in interpersonal relationships, partner and family challenges I prefer to work in a time-limited and collaborative way. Together we find ways for you to change some aspects in your life in sustainable ways. Please feel free to write to me with any questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you. Washington, Washington, D.C. therapist: Erica Hart, psychologist
Feminist Therapy

Erica Hart

Psychologist, PhD in Clinical Psychology
I work collaboratively with my clients to honor who they are, help make sense of their emotional responses to daily experiences, and guide them to become more authentic in their relationships. My approach is nonjudgmental, reflective and oftentimes playful. During our sessions, I help clients make connections between current problems and past struggles. Understanding these patterns builds self-awareness and helps create more adaptive ways of coping with stress and relating to others. I have been trained in Humanistic/Existential, Psychodynamic, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and draw upon these approaches to best respond to my client's concerns, goals and disposition. I specialize in working with clients struggling with life transitions, including changes in roles or identity, and shifts in relationships. These moments in one's life frequently result in a mix of anxiety and depression, but can be crucial times for self-reflection and growth. I support my clients through individual therapy and couples counseling.

Christchurch, England therapist: Saffron Marriner, counselor/therapist
Feminist Therapy

Saffron Marriner

Counsellor/Therapist, MBACP (Accred)
Some of the benefits of seeing a therapist online are that this will give you the opportunity to access support in a location and at a time that is convenient to you and you may be able to access therapy more quickly this way. As counsellors are trained to observe your body language, voice tone and other non verbal cues, including eye contact there may be the need for me to clarify certain points with you if we are working remotely ( particularly if this is over the telephone) We would use either zoom or whatsapp for our video calls. I will send you the hyperlink to download onto your device. There will also be a password to allow you access to a secure, encrypted online meeting room. You are responsible for maintaining confidentiality while we are working together including ensuring that the hardware for your device, internet access points, email address and passwords are secure. I will call you at the time that we have agreed and encourage you to ensure that the space that you are in is a place where you feel safe, comfortable and your privacy is maintained. Some things for you to ask yourself prior to working with a therapist remotely might be how comfortable are you with using internet technology? Is there a device you can use in private with no interruptions? It is also worth considering whether the situation that you are seeking counselling for may be easier for you to discuss face to face?
