Anxiety doesn't just live in your thoughts—it echoes loudly in your body. For the driven, high-achieving individual, anxiety often masks itself as perfectionism, overthinking, and a relentless pressure to hold everything together. Privately, however, it leaves you stuck in a state of constant physical tension, nervous system overdrive, and a secret fear that the ground beneath you might shift at any moment.I provide specialized, compassionate counselling for individuals navigating high anxiety, deep-seated fears, panic, and chronic worry. In our sessions, we address your anxiety from two essential angles: the mind and the body. We utilize Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to untangle unhelpful thought loops, manage a loud inner critic, and build practical mindset tools. At the same time, we bring in neuro-experiential tools like Brainspotting to go beneath the surface. This allows us to locate, process, and safely release the hidden physical weight of fear and anxiety right where it is stuck in your nervous system.Whether your anxiety is tied to a major life disruption—such as relationship strain, career transitions, or perimenopause—or manifests as profound loneliness and self-doubt, our goal is to help you slow down. Together, we will calm your nervous system, build emotional regulation strategies, and help you step out of overwhelm into a more grounded, resilient, and intentional way of living.

Anxiety and Stress are a part of our human experience as we navigate so much that is out of our control and unpredictable in life.
Some anxiety and stress is helpful in navigating difficult moments in life.
We want to be able to move through life with an awareness of how the anxiety and stress is helping us and how it is also covering deeper emotions that need to be addressed.
Through body psychotherapy we can connect more deeply to ourselves and the emotions stored in our bodies and use tools and exercises to regulate the anxiety and stress while processing the deeper emotions. The anxiety and stress dissipates as we become more comfortable with our deeper emotions and we begin to thrive.

Arne Pedersen - Hypnotherapy Victoria
Hypnotherapist, RCCH
Anxiety and fear often arise when the nervous system has learned to stay on guard, anticipating threat even when there is no immediate danger. Many people experience anxiety as persistent worry, physical tension, or a constant sense of unease — despite knowing logically that they are safe.
From a mindfulness-based perspective, anxiety is understood as a protective response shaped by past experiences where uncertainty, stress, or emotional overwhelm felt difficult to manage. Over time, the nervous system can remain stuck in fight-or-flight, reacting to present situations as though the past is still happening.
When the body stays in this heightened state, it uses a great deal of energy and has little opportunity to return to balance, rest, and repair. This ongoing strain can create an internal sense of threat, reinforcing the feeling that life is unsafe and causing external situations to be perceived as more dangerous or overwhelming than they actually are.
In our work together, the focus is on helping the nervous system gradually recognize safety in the present moment. Through mindfulness practices, breath awareness, and body-based awareness, clients learn how to become more comfortable with uncomfortable emotions and the physical sensations that arise with them.
As people gain experience staying present with these feelings, confidence grows. Anxiety often softens not because life becomes easier, but because there is a growing trust in the ability to feel, process, and move through whatever emotions life brings. When emotional capacity expands, fears lose their grip, and people experience greater freedom, clarity, and confidence in what they choose to do.
Hypnotherapy can further support this process by helping update subconscious threat responses and creating felt experiences of calm, safety, and steadiness that reinforce this trust.
