TREATMENT AND TOOLS FOR TRAUMA

Licensed Psychoanalyst, PH.D., IN PSYCHOANALYSIS AND NEUROSCIENCE, CERTIFIED PSYCHOANALYST, PSY.A, & LICENSED PSYCHOANALYST
My background is in both psychoanalysis and neuroscience (doctorate) and I am also a Certified and Licensed Psychoanalyst. So I am able to bring both a background in research into mind/brain issues, and I am trained as a clinician. I have been working with trauma for many years, and most recently (2016) I have been working with traumatic brain injury patients (including professional athletes). I am grateful for my dual background in mind/brain, because all brain injured patients require both perspectives. In August of 2023 I published "The Complex Architecture and Healing of Traumatic Brain Injuries: Listening to The Brain" with Cambridge Scholars Publishing in the UK. This is the story (based on case histories) of the journey to find a "healing road" for all persons who have had serious disruptions in brain functioning. This is very, very challenging territory to work in. And in my experience, requires a great collaboration between doctor and patient. I am also the author of "Moon Over Seaville," the story of the hunt for a serial arsonist in Southern California (in 4 Episodes). Available everywhere under "Mystery/Thrillers." I have patients all across the country (via phone). Brain injuries can be healed!

Sam Naimi

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, Psychoanalyst, Psychotherapist
Trauma shows up in our lives in silent yet indelible ways. Whether it’s via dissociation, anger, self-isolation, or substances, we all have unique ways we learn to unconsciously protect ourselves, so that the past can never repeat; so that we can never be hurt in the same ways ever again. As such, the ghosts from our past continue to haunt us in invisible, unexpected ways. They are unfortunately too insidious to defeat by ourselves. Psychoanalytic therapy can help put these ghosts to rest once and for all. Let’s dream together of new possibilities for your future. I am licensed in CA, NY, NJ, and MA. I love what I do, and I am committed to the health and well-being of everyone I have the privilege of supporting in psychotherapy. I welcome you to reach out for a free consultation.

Dana Fogel-Stark

Therapist, M.S., LMFT
Welcome to my profile. My name is Dana Fogel-Stark and I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist specializing in the treatment of Anxiety Disorders, Depressive Disorder and Couple/Relational Issues. I have been licensed as a psychotherapist for over 20 years and in full time private practice in the heart of Calabasas. My therapeutic approach is eclectic focused on both helping clients gain insight and awareness as to the origin and cause of their struggles as well as helping clients gain the tools and coping mechanisms needed to overcome their challenges. Layla Ashley Psychotherapy

Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT
Relationships can bring our deepest joy, but they can also surface painful patterns. If you and your partner find yourselves caught in the same arguments, struggling to truly hear one another, or feeling emotionally distant, you’re not alone. Many couples reach a point where communication breaks down and the connection they once felt begins to feel strained or uncertain. Sometimes earlier life experiences, family patterns, or stressors quietly shape the way we relate, making it harder to stay close even when the love is still there. With more than two decades of experience working with couples, I help partners slow down the cycle of conflict and understand what’s really happening beneath the surface. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in relational and attachment-based work. I support couples in developing healthier communication, repairing emotional wounds, and building a stronger foundation of trust and intimacy. I’m also particularly attuned to the needs of highly sensitive people and those who want a thoughtful, depth-oriented approach to relationship growth. Whether you’re preparing for a deeper commitment, working to repair trust after a rupture, or trying to rediscover connection after years together, therapy can offer a meaningful path forward. I also support individuals navigating dating, heartbreak, or relationship transitions. Together we’ll work toward clearer communication, emotional safety, and a relationship that feels more conscious, supportive, and alive. If you’d like to explore whether this work might be a good fit, feel free to reach out to schedule a complimentary consultation.
