Lavinia May
Counsellor/Therapist, MNCPS (Acc.)
Hi, I'm Lavinia.
If you and your partner keep having the same argument, feel disconnected, or find yourselves walking on eggshells - you're not alone, and things can change.
I specialise in couples therapy, and also work with individuals. My approach is warm, honest and practical: we'll make sense of what's going on between you, and build small, realistic steps that help your relationship feel easier, closer and more like you again.
I use proven tools and techniques - without the jargon. Sessions feel like real conversations with direction: we set goals together, track what's working, and adapt as we go.
work with couples and individuals navigating: recurring arguments & communication breakdowns · trust & repair after conflict · intimacy & emotional disconnection · anxiety creeping into the relationship · family & in-law boundaries · life transitions & burnout · reconnecting after a rough patch
Practicalities: 50-minute sessions • Online or in person in my Sandbach office • Individual & Couples. 🎁 20% Off All Therapy Sessions: Spring is here - and so is 20% off all therapy sessions. Let's make it count!
Next step: Introductory Session
50 minutes | Individuals & Couples
The first step is an initial session together - a relaxed conversation to get to know each other, hear a little about what's been going on, and explore how I may be able to support you. There's no pressure or commitment at this stage. Prefer to skip the Introductory Session? You're welcome to book your first therapy session directly.
Available in-person in Sandbach, Cheshire, or online from anywhere.

John Castleford
Registered Psychotherapist, MA, MIAEB, FRAI
I have been a psychotherapist and mental health coach for many years, and I now specialise almost exclusively in helping those with, or recovering from, cancer. It's a debilitating disease that I have experienced twice, so I know at first hand the effect it can have on the quality of life and particularly how it makes us feel -- either as a reaction to being diagnosed and undergoing treatment, or when in remission as a survivor, the fear of it recurring.
I can also help family members and close friends, who often feel helpless bystanders.
We have all experienced our feelings dominating what we think, and what we do. But heightened emotions stop us thinking clearly. And that can often lead us to feel out of control.
Unlike many therapists, I do not believe that the adverse effect on our thinking and our behaviour from a life-changing event like cancer is a dysfunctional flaw or a disorder that needs treatment. Typical reactions to cancer --anxiety, fear, stress and low mood -- are part of life. Why cancer often triggers is a range of reactions: shock and denial; Shock and denial that it is happening. Coping with fear, anxiety and panic can be difficult, particularly as mood swings may frequently change. Feelings of sadness may range from low moof to extreme depression.
Ultimately we know, at a rational level, that we are mortal. But we also have we also have a very strong instinct to survive. We want to live. And enjoy life. Cancer is not the death sentence it once was.
I can help you come to terms with the reality as well as the inevitable perceptions that may influence you. And I can help you to flourish, rather than just cope and survive.

Talktojojo1st ( Josephine Aligwekwe aka Jojo)
Registered Psychotherapist, Pg Adv Dip Psych, Cert. Trauma-Informed & Christian Counsellor , Cert. NLP Coach, Bsc Maths/Comp. Sc
I am a compassionate, patient, and caring person who has always had a deep interest in people and their life stories. Early in my career, this naturally led me to work as a trainer, where I enjoyed supporting and guiding others in their personal and professional development.
Over time, my passion for working closely with people led me to transition into counselling and psychotherapy. I find great meaning in creating a space where individuals can openly talk about their relationships, life experiences, and the challenges they may be facing.
With a natural ability to listen deeply and empathetically, I work with clients to identify the patterns or obstacles that may be holding them back from becoming their best selves. Together, we explore ways to overcome these challenges and support meaningful personal growth and healing.
