I specialize in treating anxiety and fears using a combination of psychodynamic, interpersonal, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and EMDR approaches. Anxiety can manifest as excessive worry, restlessness, racing thoughts, difficulty concentrating, irritability, muscle tension, and physical symptoms like a racing heart or shortness of breath. These methods help clients understand the underlying issues contributing to their anxiety, improve their relationships, and develop effective coping strategies to reduce symptoms and enhance overall well-being.
I utilize mindfulness and acceptance based therapies to help clients slow down and feel more choice in how they respond to their anxiety, along with learning skills to self-soothe and ground themselves again. I also encourage clients to try to understand where their anxiety is coming from and identify ways to channel their anxiety into more productive choices to help them reach their goals.

Anxiety or Fears are the most common conditions I have treated in my 50 years of practice, and the techniques I utilize can be very effective for these conditions. A certain amount of anxiety and fear can be functional, but too much of it can be crippling. Those who suffer with early trauma or PTSD from any time in life, can manifest symptoms of anxiety and fear. In-depth psychotherapy can also be effective and may be required to heal the source of chronic patterns of anxiety and fear.
