I love to work with couples in conflict, frustrated parents, teens who are struggling in school or struggling with their family, and women navigating depression, grief, anxiety, trauma or intimate relationships. I will be in your corner and I will work to gain your trust. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and strength-based approaches with a culturally sensitive lens to navigate things like family conflict and healing from abuse or neglect. I also use Gottman Method couples counseling to help couples increase their communication and emotional connection. You can book online with me at our website or call our office to set up a free consultation call with me. Reach out anytime!

Jenna Sackman - Online/Virtual Therapy

Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHC, LPC
I specialize in working with individuals (children, teens and adults) and couples, and I am incredibly passionate about the work I do and the people with whom I have the honor to work. My areas of expertise are anxiety / stress, relationship challenges, conflict resolution, intrusive negative thoughts and patterns, loss/grief and depression. Most clients and couples choose to work with me because they are looking for nontraditional therapy that provides them with concrete skills to improve their everyday lives and/or address specific concerns. Holistic and integrative in my approach, I believe that there is no "one size fits all" in therapy. Therefore, I uniquely tailor therapy sessions to meet each client's needs and goals. With extensive experience and training in results oriented and solutions focused cognitive therapies, positive psychology, mindfulness, Buddhist Psychology, Gottman Method for Couples, meditation, and yoga, I offer creative approaches that result in meaningful change and growth. Above all, I am committed to creating therapeutic relationships that are built on trust, respect, transparency, empathy, honesty, and equality, and I always counsel from a nonjudgmental place of understanding and compassion. I am happy to offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to see how I can best support you! Why wait tomorrow when you can start today? I am an Asian-Latina therapist and I love to work with adults and couples, especially couples with difficult communication, new moms & new dads, and adults dealing with loneliness and isolation. My clients work with me on things like coping with infertility, overcoming postpartum depression, turning ADHD into a superpower, workplace issues & career pivots, rebuilding identity after a life transition, recovering from people-pleasing, reducing anxiety, and exploring culture and healing from race-related trauma. I combine approaches like DBT & CBT with boundary creation.

Clifton, New Jersey therapist: Dr. Mike Abrams, psychologist
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dr. Mike Abrams

Psychologist, PhD, MBA, ABPP
I limit my practice to a few clients with whom I can offer meaningful help. I do not think it is ethical for a psychologist to agree to work with someone who has a problem outside of their expertise or someone who has barriers that the psychologist suspects they cannot overcome. When I conclude that I can help someone, I collaborate with them while applying the most appropriate methods for their problems. I choose these methods from among the many I have studied or developed. This is sometimes called a Transdiagnostic Integrative technique. Here, a clinical label or diagnosis is less important than the unique collection of symptoms a person is living with. I also make sure that I come to understand the client's point of view, how their adversities, their personal philosophy, and their level of suffering combine to lead to their anxiety, depressed mood, or even anger. When the client agrees, I prefer to use psychological testing to be sure my assessment of the client's situation is supported by the best available science. When I conduct psychotherapy, I know it can only be effective when I view the client as presenting many intricate problems that must be fully understood, so each client's issues are approached as scientific hypotheses that guide therapy, which guide my specific interventions, but is always open to revision as new life history information or psychological data becomes available. Since I have trained numerous therapists and continue researching and publishing in the field, my clients are assured they receiving the most effective evidence-based interventions. If you do see me, you can be confident that you will be unconditionally accepted in a safe and comfortable therapeutic relationship with every effort being made to help you.
