Melbourne, Victoria therapist: Gaye Mallinson - Somatic Psychotherapies, counselor/therapist
Social Isolation

Gaye Mallinson - Somatic Psychotherapies

Counsellor/Therapist, B.Soc.Ser. (Couns) Dist, Dip. Couns, Trauma Informed Yoga Cert, Pranayama Cert, Nidra Cert
I work primarily from a Rogerian or Person-Centred Therapy (PCT) approach using a conversational style listening patiently to you, always with empathy, genuineness and without judgement, to help find the solutions you desire for your life whilst adjusting my techniques to fit your needs within each session. Social isolation can be debilitating in hampering healthy, confident interaction with others and can lead to loneliness and depression. I am able to utilise specific somatic (mind/body) therapy techniques within the therapy session to support greater healing of the underlying and often subconscious cause. These gentle but effective techniques create a new positive sense of self. My aim is to assist you with your life difficulties from social isolation to restore balance, happiness and inner peace with various techniques of 'talk therapy' and somatic (mind/body) healing methods, along with offering practical strategies that may be useful where suitable and desired by you. Whatever you are going through, know that there is hope - Let me help you find that hope.

Social Isolation

Marianna Trezza -The Growing mindset

Counsellor/Therapist, MA (Hons), Adv Dip. Counsel. & Psychoth.,Dip. Hypnoth., X-Cultural Adaptation Coun. Reg. BACP 572613
Social isolation is not always visible from the outside. Many women living abroad appear highly functional. They work, build families, speak multiple languages and adapt to different cultures. Yet internally, many experience a quiet sense of disconnection. A feeling of living between worlds without fully belonging to either. For some Italian women abroad, isolation is not simply about being physically alone. It can come from years of feeling emotionally “in translation” — adjusting language, tone, identity and behaviour in order to adapt, integrate or feel accepted. Over time, this can create exhaustion, emotional loneliness and a subtle sense of fragmentation. Some women begin to feel that nobody fully sees the whole of who they are: the language they grew up in, the culture they left, the person they became abroad, and the parts of themselves that never completely fitted into either world. My work offers a warm, reflective and psychologically grounded space to explore belonging, identity, emotional connection and nervous system regulation. I integrate psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, embodiment, reflective dialogue, nature-based practices and holistic approaches to support women in reconnecting not only with others, but also with themselves.

Social Isolation

Rob McClintock Counselling

Licensed Mental Health Counsellor, Dip Counselling ACA, Clinical Hypnotherapist ASCH,
Social isolation can feel like being trapped behind invisible walls, watching life happen around you while feeling disconnected, misunderstood, and alone. Whether driven by depression, anxiety, past trauma, or simply feeling different from others, isolation becomes both a protection and a prison that deepens over time. Having experienced my own periods of profound isolation during my struggles with addiction and depression, I understand how it can become a self-reinforcing cycle where the longer you're alone, the harder it becomes to reconnect. My approach to social isolation addresses the underlying fears, beliefs, and emotional wounds that keep you disconnected from others. Using Subconscious Dynamics™, we work to heal the pain that drives withdrawal, transform limiting beliefs about relationships and belonging, and rebuild your capacity for genuine human connection. This process helps you move from isolation to authentic engagement with others, rediscovering your place in the world.
