Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Gestalt Psychotherapist Somatic Experiencing Practitioner Gottman Trained Couples Therapist
As a gestalt psychotherapist, who pairs gestalt training with somatic experiencing I can help support you in healing from your trauma. No one in the Niagara Region utilizes the combination of these therapies and applies them to working with couples in crisis. Gottman (couples) and Post Induction Therapy training (relational/developmental trauma) I am sorry to say but popular approaches to healing trauma like CBT will provide only temporary relief at best. If you want to get to the root of your trauma and heal somatic experiencing (SE) is what you need and when supported with the power of relational gestalt therapy you will shift your shit! SE focuses on regulating your nervous system. With SE work trauma responses are completed and energy is released back into the system and with this the resolution and disappearance of physical complaints, including headaches, digestive problems, and pain syndromes can be resolved, and emotional regulation can be restored. I will teach you how to work with your stress response - the body's innate alarm system in response to a perceived danger, also called the "Fight or Flight" response. It is highly adaptive to danger and human survival when threats are physical, but less so when threats are psychological, or imaginary, among other somatic and relational skills. I have been trained under Dr Abi Blakeslee part of Dr Peter A Levine's legacy group out of California for Somatic Experiencing and the late great Dr Bud Feder the author of Beyond the Hot Seat was on my dissertation committee overseeing a phenomenological study of the effectiveness of a gestalt therapy group I created to reduce stress in working informal caregivers of the elderly. I named the group process Stressed WOW (We Overloaded with Work). Gestalt therapy is an extremely complex psychotherapy, too complex to describe in this short space. The power of its effectiveness can only be experienced. Most present day therapies have stolen bits and pieces of its praxis. Get the whole again with a holistic, here and now, experiential therapy. I am here for you... I've got your six!

John Harrison, CFIR St Catharines

Counsellor/Therapist, PhD
Welcome, I’m glad you’re here. If you are reading this, you are considering making a change in your life by looking for a therapist. Change can be scary. I want to celebrate your strength that brought you to this powerful, and perhaps daunting, first step on your path to self-discovery and growth. Whatever pain and suffering you have endured; you no longer have to face alone. I want to honor and respect your courage by committing to co-creating and nurturing a non-judgemental space where you feel physically and psychologically safe, seen, and valued. When we have built a trusting relationship, we can begin to explore the patterns of emotions, thoughts, and behaviours that are negatively impacting your life. In my collaborative approach to therapy, you are the expert on your life; my role, through my knowledge of therapeutic processes and interventions, is to support, encourage, and travel alongside you on your journey.

Rebecca Goldstein, TuneinTherapy, ADHD | Trauma | Autism

Registered Social Worker, RSW, MSW, MTA, BMT, FAMI
Therapy works best when you feel genuinely safe, understood, and able to speak openly. Many of my clients share that one of the most meaningful parts of our work together is not only the practical tools and strategies they gain, but also the sense of connection, honesty, and relief that comes from having a space where they can be real and experience real change. My background includes social work, music therapy, palliative care, oncology, acute mental health, and service in the Canadian Armed Forces. I also bring lived experience with grief, trauma, chronic pain, and adversity, which deeply informs my compassionate and realistic approach. I work with individuals who are often used to “holding it together” on the outside while internally feeling overwhelmed, burned out, disconnected, or stuck in painful patterns. Together, we’ll figure out what actually works for you — not just generic advice. I take the time to understand your strengths, your struggles, and the deeper patterns that may be keeping you stuck so we can approach challenges in a way that feels realistic and meaningful. We can do more than just manage symptoms or get through the day. My goal is to help you build a life that feels worthwhile. Ekaterina Kapoustina

Registered Psychotherapist, MA, RP
I work with therapists and other service providers to support them in understanding themselves in a deeper, relational way through couples and process group therapy. Group work is not just a "cheaper alternative" to individual therapy. It allows for you to receive support while exploring relational dynamics and trying on new ways of engaging vulnerably to improve your personal relationships, whether friendship or intimate partners. Currently enrolling for Dating as a Therapist Process Group. A bi-weekly group, focused on the relational challenges of dating as a therapist. Starting April 24th, 12- 2 pm.
