Society is full of ideas of what a man "should" be. This is what often stops men from seeking treatment. Statements like "man up" get tossed around all the time, and then when people can't anymore they start to wonder what is wrong with them. These are the questions we help men deal with every day in therapy. We will work with you where you are at. You don't need to sit and cry and talk about your childhood (unless that is what you want to do!) We always suggest trying it out. Therapy is hard work but we have yet to meet a client who has done the work and hasn't found it helpful.

Good role models for men are hard to find. Our culture often promotes toxic behaviors like competitiveness, emotional distance, and isolation, leading to loneliness even among men who are often together. Addressing men’s issues means improving your relationship with yourself, your friendships, romantic relationships, and parenting. A male guide can help you grow and heal the wounds from your father.

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a form of CBT, to address men's issues, helping men navigate challenges like stress, emotional expression, and identity. ACT focuses on building mindfulness and aligning actions with personal values, empowering men to break free from unhelpful patterns, manage emotions effectively, and lead more fulfilling lives.
I specialize in addressing men's unique mental health challenges, including stress, anger management, relationship issues, and emotional expression. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where men can explore their feelings, develop healthier coping strategies, and achieve personal growth. Let’s work together to overcome barriers and foster resilience.

Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Psychotherapist (RP), Masters of Counselling Psychology (MACP)
Working with men is core to my work as a counsellor and therapist. Issues and areas of focus in men's therapy can be diverse but there are typically some common threads: our role as providers and perceived career success, how we are measuring up as partners in relationships, our ability to attract the right type of partner in the first place, our ability to perform, our ability to receive respect and admiration from our peers. Our ability to be the types of fathers, brothers, sons and friends that we admire. We can be competitive, passionate, thoughtful and at other times we can feel lost, confused, vulnerable and set in our ways. We can struggle with effective communication, addictive tendencies and losing control of our anger. One of the most rewarding things I experience as a therapist is when I connect with men who really embrace therapy as a space to be with themselves and embrace therapy as a personal journey. I specialize in working with men on a myriad of issues including anxiety, depression, reactivity, addiction, stress, relationship issues, etc.; the way one works with men can be very different than how one works with other populations. The culture, beliefs, and understanding of men can be so varied and skewed, and it is only through understanding these lenses that one can hope to accurately treat an individual.
