Registered Social Worker, RSW, MSW, MTA, BMT, FAMI
Sleep struggles are often about far more than simply “not sleeping enough.” Anxiety, trauma, ADHD, chronic pain, nervous system dysregulation, hormonal shifts, burnout, racing thoughts, sensory issues, or emotional overwhelm can all deeply impact rest. When sleep is disrupted, everything else can feel harder — mood, focus, pain, emotional regulation, relationships, and daily functioning. My approach is practical, compassionate, and focused on understanding what may actually be contributing to your sleep challenges beneath the surface. Together, we look at patterns, stress, nervous system needs, habits, and deeper emotional factors while building realistic strategies that support better rest, recovery, and overall wellbeing

Toronto, Ontario therapist: Mind Path Therapy, therapist
Sleep Disorder

Mind Path Therapy

Therapist, MSW, RSW
If you've ever lain awake at night tossing and turning, feeling frustrated and angry about the sleep you're losing and how badly the next day will go, then you know what insomnia is. Many people have sleepless nights, but if you're experiencing an ongoing period of inability to fall or stay asleep, then you may have insomnia or a related sleep disorder. I've completed training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for insomnia, CBTi, and ACT for insomnia, both validated as evidence-based treatments for insomnia. I will work with you in a supportive and collaborative way to help you understand your sleep issues through an initial assessment that looks at the context in which your insomnia developed, the presence or lack of sleep-promoting behaviours (i.e., sleep "hygiene"), how you think about sleep, and how you respond to sleep behaviorally. From there, we'll be able to target insomnia-maintaining thoughts and behaviours and help you gently shift to an improved approach to sleep that enables you to let go of struggling with sleeplessness and focus on the strategies for achieving the optimal environment for sleep to happen.

Do you often feel restless, exhausted, or unable to get the sleep you need? Many people struggle with sleep because of stress, anxiety, racing thoughts, or routines that make rest feel elusive. Over time, sleeplessness can leave you frustrated, foggy, or disconnected from your energy and focus. These difficulties are not a personal failure—they are signals that your mind and body need support. What matters is how you respond when sleep challenges arise. Together, we can explore your patterns, understand what’s interfering with rest, and develop strategies to help you feel more relaxed, regulated, and lighter as you rest. You struggle with sleep for a reason. Let’s explore why, and what comes next.

Windsor's identity is defined by its location directly across the Detroit River from Detroit — making it the most automobile-dependent major Canadian city and shaping a working-class culture tied to the fortunes of the automotive industry. The city's significant Arab-Canadian community — one of the largest concentrations of Arab Canadians in the country — drives demand for Arabic-speaking and culturally informed therapists who understand the particular intersection of immigration stress, Middle Eastern family systems, and mental health in a North American context. Windsor Regional Hospital provides institutional mental health resources alongside a private practice community, with some residents also accessing care across the border or via telehealth. The University of Windsor's applied social psychology programs contribute training resources to the local clinical community.
