Depression Therapy: Uncovering What’s Been Silenced
Depression often speaks the language of what’s been suppressed—unmet needs, unspoken emotions, and parts of the self that haven’t felt safe to be seen. It’s not just a low mood or lack of motivation; it’s a signal that something deeper is asking to be acknowledged.
My approach centers on awareness, reflection, and integration. Using a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, mindfulness, and psychosomatic insight, we explore the emotional and subconscious layers beneath the surface. This work invites:
• Recognition of the feelings and needs that have been pushed down or overlooked
• Practical tools to navigate emotional heaviness and inner criticism
• Space to understand relational dynamics and internalized beliefs
• Mind-body practices that support presence, regulation, and reconnection
This process isn’t about fixing—it’s about listening. It’s about meeting what’s been silenced with compassion and curiosity, and allowing that awareness to guide meaningful change.

Since I am not a licensed therapist, I'm not allowed to diagnose conditions such as Depression. This is a term that is often thrown around quite readily and clients often state they suffer from depression, whether or not they have been formally diagnosed by a therapist in the past. Generally, it is a rather broad diagnosis covering a wide range of behaviors. For hypnotists, many of these behaviors are simply a negative habit of mind that we can change, neutralizing many of the past traumas that have led to their problems. I have worked with many such clients, however. In many cases my clients have been in therapy for years, even decades, and while they understood the roots of their feelings, they got no relief. One of my earliest clients was a woman who suffered tremendous emotional abuse as a child and grew up with a crushing feeling of worthlessness. She became grossly overweight and worked at menial jobs her whole life, unable to form any successful and satisfying relationships. Through hypnosis, she was able to lose 170 pounds and after one session focused on her past trauma, she was so lightened of her lifelong burden of self loathing that she practically floated out of my office and she insisted on paying me double my fee. She has been free of her burdens now for 5 years and comes in once a year for a refresher session. I have had many such results in my practice.

Depression is often an expression of emotional loss, internal conflict, and blocked vitality rather than a problem to be treated only at the level of symptoms. My work integrates psychoanalytic exploration, somatic awareness, and hypnosis to understand how sadness, withdrawal, and numbness are shaped by early relational experience and lived in the body. Together, we work toward restoring emotional movement, self-understanding, and a renewed capacity for connection and aliveness.
