I provide support during the ups and downs of infertility, when facing painful or intrusive medical treatments, and during times of high distress, such when a treatment fails or after a miscarriage. I will help you work through feelings of stress, grief, fear, and other emotions you might be experiencing. We will also work together to help you strengthen the coping skills you already have, develop new coping skills, and more clearly communicate your needs to others.  

We understand that dealing with infertility can be traumatizing and a struggle, both personally and relationally. We work with people to better understand how to cope with their struggles and losses. We also work with those who have adopted or are adopted and understand the attachment issues that may arise and how to work to build safety and stability for your family.  

Often, adopted children have thoughts, fears, confusion and questions over their life span. Many of these children have also suffered from early abuse and or neglect as well. When attachment to a primary caregiver does not develop, or is interrupted, there are actual changes in the brain. A competent therapist must be able to build emotionally connected relationships, have and be able to teach about the brain connection, and apply good interventions specific to each child’s history. Parents must be fully involved with treatment and are a life-long leading treatment team member for their child.
