As a highly sensitive therapist, I offer a warm, attuned presence and a deep capacity to notice the subtleties of a client’s emotional world. I tend to process information thoughtfully and reflectively, which allows for a patient, mindful approach that helps people feel genuinely seen, understood, and safe enough to explore vulnerable parts of their experience. Most of my therapeutic focus areas are intentionally chosen—they reflect experiences I understand personally and have spent years studying, integrating, and applying in meaningful ways. Because of this you can be assured that I am able to meet you where you are at, with sincerity and a dose of genuine humour, listening deeply, noticing subtle patterns and shifts, and encouraging steps forward in a gentle but challenging way.

Treatment Approach

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
  • Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
  • Gestalt Therapy Encourages awareness of thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present moment. It helps people integrate different parts of themselves for wholeness.
  • Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: I draw from primarily from Psychodynamic, Somatic, Existential, CBT, Compassion Focused, and Parts Work (Gestalt/IFS) approaches, and often incorporate creative and experiential techniques such as mindfulness, art, writing, movement, nature-based practices, and exposure work. I am certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) and have completed extensive training in evidence-based mind-body approaches for chronic pain, fatigue, and other neuroplastic symptoms. As someone with lived experience of chronic pain and illness who has seen meaningful recovery through PRT and mindfulness-based practices, I bring both professional expertise and personal insight to this work. I also integrate mind-body strategies to support individuals navigating anxiety, perfectionism, addiction, sensory sensitivity, and overstimulation.
