You may look capable on the outside, yet feel constantly tense, self-critical, or emotionally exhausted on the inside. I work with adults who are tired of pushing themselves and want a calmer, more grounded relationship with their thoughts and emotions. My therapy style is warm, structured, and collaborative, combining compassion-focused therapy and mindfulness to help you build inner safety, clarity, and resilience. I offer a supportive space where change happens gently, without judgment or pressure.

Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
Approach Description: My approach is grounded in compassion-focused therapy and mindfulness, with an integrative and practical orientation. I help clients understand how their nervous system, emotions, and thought patterns interact, especially in anxiety and self-criticism. Together, we work on developing emotional regulation, self-compassion, and realistic strategies that can be applied outside of sessions. Therapy is collaborative, paced with care, and adapted to each client’s sensitivity, strengths, and goals.
Fees & Insurance
Fees
- Average Session Fee 165
- Affordable sliding scale therapy: apply if you may be eligible.
- I offer a limited number of sliding scale spaces for clients who demonstrate financial need and meet specific eligibility criteria. Sliding scale availability is based on income level, employment status, and access to other financial resources, following principles similar to community-based models such as those used by Mankind Project. These reduced-fee spaces are intentionally limited to ensure sustainability of the practice and fairness to all clients. If you believe you may qualify, please inquire during your initial contact so we can discuss availability and fit.
- Accepts Insurance
- Many extended health insurance plans in Canada cover counselling services provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) or Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC). I provide detailed receipts that clients can submit for reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so I recommend confirming eligibility directly with your insurance provider. Common providers that often offer coverage include: Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Pacific Blue Cross, Blue Cross, Green Shield Canada, Desjardins Insurance, ClaimSecure, Medavie Blue Cross, Equitable Life, Industrial Alliance, and other extended health benefit plans.

My practice is focused on helping adults who experience anxiety, chronic overthinking, perfectionism, emotional sensitivity, and low self-worth. Many of my clients are thoughtful, capable people who feel overwhelmed by their inner world and disconnected from their own needs. Therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what is happening beneath the surface, and learn new ways of responding to stress and emotional pain.
I work from a compassion-focused and mindfulness-based framework, integrating practical tools with deeper emotional work. Rather than “fixing” yourself, therapy is about developing a kinder, more supportive inner relationship and learning how to regulate emotions, set boundaries, and respond to challenges with greater clarity.
Sessions are tailored to your pace and goals. I value creating a sense of safety and trust, especially for clients who feel easily overwhelmed or self-critical. I offer therapy in English and Spanish, online and in-person in the Greater Victoria area.
