Reaching out for therapy is often the point where something no longer feels sustainable whether that’s ongoing anxiety, the impact of past experiences, or feeling stuck in patterns that don’t shift despite insight or effort.
I’m a Registered Psychologist working with children, adolescents, and adults. My approach is tailored and integrative, drawing from evidence-based therapies such as CBT, ACT, and solution-focused approaches, alongside EMDR for trauma processing. I am also a Certified Art Therapist, offering more experiential ways of working when words alone don’t fully capture what’s being carried.
Clients I work with are often thoughtful and self-aware, but still find themselves overwhelmed, disconnected, or repeating patterns they don’t fully understand. Our work focuses on getting to the root of those patterns while building the capacity to respond differently—both internally and in relationships.
I offer a therapy space that is grounded, collaborative, and focused on meaningful, lasting change. Whether you are seeking support for yourself or your child, the goal is not just to cope, but to move forward with greater clarity and stability.

Treatment Approach
- Art Therapy Uses creative activities like drawing, painting, or sculpture as a way to express emotions. It is especially helpful when words are hard to find.
- Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.
- Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Family Constellation Therapy Explores hidden family dynamics and patterns across generations. It helps people understand how past family issues may be influencing current struggles.
- Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
- Jungian Therapy Draws on Carl Jung’s ideas about archetypes, dreams, and the collective unconscious. It helps people explore deeper layers of meaning.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.

Prevail Psychology is a Kelowna-based practice offering therapy for children, adolescents, and adults seeking support with anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation, and life transitions. The practice is grounded in providing thoughtful, individualized care that goes beyond surface-level symptom management.
Services are tailored to each client, integrating evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and solution-focused therapy, alongside EMDR for trauma processing. As a Certified Art Therapist, Christina Groth also offers more experiential and creative approaches, which can be particularly effective for children and for clients who find it difficult to fully express their experiences through words alone.
Prevail Psychology is designed to offer a space that is both structured and flexible—supporting clients in understanding patterns, processing difficult experiences, and developing more effective ways of coping and relating. The focus is on meaningful, lasting change that translates into daily life.
In-person sessions are available in Kelowna, with virtual services offered across Alberta and British Columbia.
