Anger can be a powerful protector, indicating that our boundaries are being disrespected or that something vital to our wholeness is threatened. It can also express as a raging tyrannizer, a crackling fuse, a simmering internalisation that off-gases through passive aggression, or a bratty tantrum.
When we become intimate with our anger, we become intimidate with our power. In our work together, we will explore the unique way your anger process happens through somatic and emotional literacy and mindfulness. We will look at your history with anger, the role of anger in your life and the life of your family/ancestors. You will learn tools to channel this power in ways that support rather than hinder your life.

Anger is an emotion that can be healthy in certain cases depending on the circumstances.
It is one of the primal instincts often used to defend yourself or someone else if there is a feeling of danger or injustice. When people get angry often they have a belief (conscious or unconscious) that someone did something wrong deliberately against them. Whether it is true or not highly differs. In some cases anger becomes a part of “toxic” communication styles that can make someone feel more powerful and important, more “right”, at the same time draining another person’s energy. Some people get energy from being angry or get some kind of release, others can’t even function properly after “absorbing” someone’s anger, e.g. HSPs and empaths. It really varies depending on the temperament, personality type and other factors.
Essentially in many cases whether it is a relationship in family, work or with friends or even strangers it can prevent a person from feeling what genuinely can make them happy and fulfilled and what can help the relationship become more authentic, fair and nourishing.
When you become a slave of your own or someone else’s anger, it is hard to find emotional balance and keep it for a reasonable time. Triggers can bring you back to anger. It often escalates back and forth. It is very sad to see such patterns.
What is OK for you in terms of anger levels might not be acceptable for the other person.
Negative emotions can get “stuck” in the body and block positive emotions and feelings.
Managing your anger or coping with a relationship which has anger patterns as part of the communication is an essential part of emotional health and personal growth.
I find emotion-image therapy, art therapy and metaphorical cards unvaluable in working with anger-related therapy requests. At times even 1-3 sessions can make a difference, provide some insights. Or course as often I recommend taking at least 5-12 sessions to work on emotional balance and communication related requests.
