Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) An evidence-based treatment for PTSD that teaches clients to reframe unhelpful thoughts about trauma. It helps reduce guilt, shame, and fear.
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Gottman Method Couples Therapy Based on decades of research, this method gives couples tools to improve communication, manage conflict, and strengthen intimacy.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
- Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.

My journey to becoming a therapist grew from a genuine curiosity about people and the experiences that shape who we are. I have always been drawn to listening, understanding different perspectives, and creating a space where people feel comfortable being themselves. Through my education and experiences working with people from diverse backgrounds, I became increasingly interested in mental health and the ways our relationships and experiences can influence how we see ourselves.
I pursued a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and became a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO. My training has shaped my approach into one that is warm, collaborative, and trauma and attachment informed. I believe therapy is not about telling someone how they should live, but about helping them better understand themselves and feel supported as they move toward meaningful change.
I believe therapy begins with feeling heard, understood, and safe enough to be honest. I work collaboratively with individuals, couples, and families to better understand the experiences and patterns that shape how we see ourselves and navigate life. My approach is trauma and attachment informed, and grounded in CBT, DBT, ACT, and person-centred therapy. I meet clients where they are, helping them build insight, develop practical tools, and move toward meaningful change at a pace that feels manageable.
Therapy with me is a collaborative process where you can feel heard and accepted without judgment. We will begin by getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, and identifying what you hope to work toward. From there, we will work together at a pace that feels comfortable, using strategies that fit your needs and goals.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and you do not have to have everything figured out before reaching out. I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and supported at your own pace. If you are considering therapy, I invite you to reach out and see if we might be a good fit.
