Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
- Multicultural Therapy Acknowledges the role of culture, race, and identity in mental health. It values diversity and adapts treatment to each person’s background.
- Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
Approach Description: My approach is integrative and collaborative, blending Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with psychodynamic, person centred (Rogerian), narrative, family systems, Internal Family Systems (IFS), culturally sensitive, and coaching approaches. I take care to meet each client where they are, pairing practical CBT informed tools with deeper insight into the patterns, relationships, and context that shape your experience. The work is grounded in anti oppressive, strengths based values, with space for both change oriented action and reflection.

With over 25 years of community work with youth and adults, I believe therapy is about more than addressing symptoms, it is about understanding the whole person within their unique story. My ideal clients are often navigating complex life transitions, career shifts, or the weight of grief and stress. They do not want a fix, they want a partner who honours their context. They need a space where their strengths are recognized and their lived experience is the foundation for change. My goal is to help them bridge where they are and where they want to be, fostering resilience through a collaborative, integrative approach that sees the person, not just the problem.
Drawing on 25 years of community experience, I offer an integrative, collaborative space to explore life's challenges. Whether you are navigating career shifts, grief, or identity, I combine psychodynamic and CBT informed approaches to help you bridge your current circumstances with your goals. Together, we will build resilience and foster meaningful growth rooted in your unique strengths.
In our work together, you can expect a collaborative, non judgmental space tailored to your unique story. We will start by grounding ourselves in your lived experience and current goals. From there, we will integrate practical, CBT informed strategies with deeper psychodynamic insight to help you understand your patterns, build resilience, and move toward the change you are seeking.
My path to becoming a therapist began long before my formal training. For over 25 years, I have worked in the community, helping people navigate the complexities of their lives. My career spans diverse roles, from working in the employment sector to my creative work in the arts, each teaching me how people find purpose and express themselves. Working with boys' groups in schools showed me the profound need for mentorship and safe spaces, while my work as a personal trainer was my first lesson in the mind body connection, realizing that physical goals often hinge on mental barriers. These experiences revealed that meaningful change is about understanding the whole person, not just fixing problems. This realization drove my transition into psychotherapy. Today, I bring that same compassion to my practice, helping individuals bridge the gap between their struggles and their growth.
Reaching out is not easy but it is the first, often hardest, step toward change. I offer a supportive, non judgmental space to explore what is on your mind. You do not have to carry your burdens alone. Whether you are ready to begin or just have questions, I invite you to reach out, I am here to support you in finding a path forward, at your own pace.
