We all have the capacity to manage what comes our way, but sometimes it can feel like too much to carry on our own. Have you experienced a trauma that continues to bother you, impacts your relationships, career, or the ability to do the things you love? Do you feel anxious, depressed, stressed or overwhelmed most days? I want to help you feel more in control of your emotions so you are better able to navigate your day-to-day. Whether that means unravelling experiences of the past to make better sense of them or focusing on the here and now, we can do it together. Your emotions don't have to rob you of living a meaningful life.

Sarah Kaleem Practice Description
Acknowledging that you may need added support or taking the first step to contact a therapist can be a difficult process. In my practice, I am known for creating a safe and trusting environment to allow my clients to naturally let their stories unfold. I value the importance of a building a strong therapeutic relationship and collaborating with my clients to ensure their journey through therapy feels like a positive and empowering process. I have extensive experience working with individuals with anxiety, depression, PTSD or trauma-related symptoms, and other mood disorders. I have training in several therapy options proven to be effective by research, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma, Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) and more. Depending on your goals, we will find the best approach for you. What can you expect? Our first scheduled appointment will be dedicated to us discussing your goals and current challenges. We may discuss your relationships, your typical day-to-day schedule, any past difficult experiences you may have had, aspects of life that may be getting in the way of you feeling well, as well as any former therapy experience. Then, we will discuss which treatment approach would be a good fit for you. We will then discuss the frequency of sessions that will best fit your goals as well as your budget. During the therapy process, I will typically provide helpful tools (i.e. informational handouts, worksheets, videos, blog suggestions) to match your learning style so you can continue to practice skills and maintain your gains long after therapy. After completing therapy, my clients typically report feeling well-equipped to tackle any challenges they face with their mental health, independently. Through our work together, you will enter a journey of discovery to help you reach your personal growth and wellness goals. Take the first step and call me for a complimentary 15-minute phone or virtual consultation to find out more - so we can start this journey together.
