Daniel endured prolonged trauma in early childhood; yet, through a deep and courageous healing process, he emerged with a profound understanding of suffering and adversity in others. With the support of compassionate individuals, he stabilized his life and gained meaningful insight into the roots of his struggles. Over time, he learned to navigate and resolve these challenges—mentally, emotionally, and behaviorally—while learning how to prevent further harm and ultimately, how to flourish. Drawing from both his personal journey and extensive formal education, Daniel now provides effective counseling and therapy grounded in evidence-based practices. His work is deeply informed by lived experience and professional expertise, allowing him to meet clients with empathy, clarity, and practical support. Daniel is known for his humility and gentle presence, yet he brings a clear and steady firmness when needed. As a skilled and committed therapist, he is deeply invested in his clients’ well-being—helping them feel safe, understand their experiences, and build the inner freedom and resilience needed to create a meaningful and fulfilling life.

Treatment Approach

  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
  • Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
  • Gestalt Therapy Encourages awareness of thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present moment. It helps people integrate different parts of themselves for wholeness.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
  • Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
  • Schema Therapy Identifies deep-rooted negative patterns formed in childhood. It combines CBT, attachment theory, and experiential methods for change.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
  • Transpersonal Therapy Integrates spirituality and higher states of consciousness with psychology. It encourages growth beyond the individual self.
Approach Description: Daniel’s approach begins by helping individuals or couples reconnect with who they are at their core—their values, identity, and inner truth. From this grounded place, he works with them to uncover and clarify the underlying causes that led to their current struggles. As understanding deepens and resilience grows, Daniel supports his clients in courageously facing their challenges, working to dismantle the patterns that no longer serve them. Together, they begin the meaningful process of healing—making things right, and creating the life that should have been.

Daniel Klassen Practice Description
Daniel provides psychological assessment and therapy for youth, adults, and seniors experiencing trauma and abuse, ADHD, anxiety, and difficulties in thinking, emotional functioning, and relationships. His work is guided by a central aim: identifying what has gone wrong and what continues to maintain these challenges. Treatment focuses on helping clients understand what is occurring beneath the surface and develop clear, effective solutions that improve daily functioning, relationships, and work performance. Where appropriate, Daniel offers comprehensive psychological assessments using standardized testing to clarify diagnosis and guide intervention; however, many clients are supported effectively without formal testing.
