Finding the right therapist is hard. We want to make it a little easier. At Creative Resilience, we're a small group of therapists who genuinely care about the people we work with. We offer virtual therapy for teens and adults across New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Florida, and we take real care in matching each person to the right fit, because that's where the work actually begins. Whether you're carrying something heavy, feeling stuck in the same patterns, or just sensing that something needs to change, you deserve support that meets you where you are, not where you "should" be. Our sessions are unhurried, nonjudgmental, and grounded in approaches that actually work. We're currently accepting new clients. Reach out and we'll get back to you within 24 hours.

Treatment Approach

  • Adlerian Therapy Focuses on understanding a person’s sense of belonging and purpose. It helps people overcome feelings of inferiority and create healthier relationships.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Play Therapy Uses toys, games, and creative play to help children express emotions. It is especially useful when children can’t fully verbalize their feelings.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Every person who walks through our (virtual) door brings a different history, different needs, and a different pace, so every treatment plan looks a little different too. That said, everything we do is rooted in trauma-informed, relational care. We pay attention to the whole person, not just the presenting problem, and we work at a pace that your nervous system can actually handle. We're not here to push you through a checklist. We're here to help you understand yourself more deeply and build the kind of skills that hold up in real life. Depending on what you're working through and what resonates with you, your therapist might draw from CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness-based practices, or attachment-focused frameworks. We explain what we're doing and why, and we adjust as we go. Most importantly, we believe the relationship between therapist and client is the foundation everything else is built on. Techniques matter, but feeling safe, seen, and genuinely understood is what makes change possible.

Fees & Insurance

Fees
  • Average Session Fee 155-175
  • Affordable sliding scale therapy: apply if you may be eligible.
  • We believe that cost shouldn't be the reason someone puts off getting support. That's why we offer sliding scale fees for clients who qualify based on financial need. Sliding scale spots are limited, but we do our best to work with you. If you're uninsured or your budget is tight, just let us know when you reach out and we'll have an honest conversation about what's possible. We also accept most major insurance plans including United Healthcare, BCBS, Cigna, and Aetna, and we handle all the billing on your end so you're not stuck navigating the paperwork alone. For those with out-of-network benefits, we offer OON billing and work with Thrizer to make reimbursement as simple as possible. Most clients with insurance find their copay averages around $25 per session once their deductible is met.

Erikka Cole Practice Details

Therapy Sessions Erikka Cole Practice Description
Creative Resilience Counseling is a virtual group practice founded on the belief that therapy should feel accessible, human, and genuinely helpful, not intimidating or one-size-fits-all. We work with teens and adults navigating some of life's harder moments: anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, burnout, relationship patterns, identity questions, and the kind of life transitions that leave you wondering who you are on the other side. Our therapists are trained in evidence-based approaches including EMDR, CBT, DBT, ACT, and mindfulness, but more than any modality, we're guided by relationship. The connection between client and therapist matters most, and we don't rush it. All of our services are offered via Telehealth, so you can access care from wherever feels most comfortable. We're licensed in New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Florida. We're a small practice, and we like it that way. It means every client gets real attention, thoughtful matching, and a team that's actually invested in their progress. If something isn't working, we say so. If you need a different approach, we adjust. Therapy here isn't about having the right answers. It's about finally having a space to ask the real questions.
