Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
- Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
- Multicultural Therapy Acknowledges the role of culture, race, and identity in mental health. It values diversity and adapts treatment to each person’s background.
Approach Description: CBT helps you become aware of thinking patterns that may be creating issues in your life. Looking at the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and behaviors helps you view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way.
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) is an evidence-based, short-term therapeutic approach that helps individuals, couples, and families identify, process, and transform emotions to improve mental health and relationships. Rooted in attachment theory, it focuses on resolving negative interaction patterns, fostering emotional intelligence, and building secure bonds by addressing underlying emotions rather than just thoughts or behaviors.
Motivational interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, goal-oriented, and client-centered counseling style designed to strengthen personal motivation and commitment to specific behavior changes. By exploring and resolving ambivalence in a compassionate, non-judgmental atmosphere, it helps individuals overcome hesitation to make positive changes.
Multicultural therapy is a therapy approach that considers a client's race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, and other social factors in treatment. It recognizes how these cultural, environmental, and personal factors affect mental health, aiming to address the specific needs of diverse, marginalized, or underserved populations through a, sometimes, strengths-based approach
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) is an evidence-based psychotherapy developed by Paul Gilbert that helps individuals manage high levels of shame and self-criticism by cultivating self-compassion and emotional regulation. It uses techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy, evolutionary psychology, and neuroscience to strengthen the brain's "soothing system," reducing distress and fostering inner safety.
