Gui Mansilla
Registered Psychotherapist, Lawyer (Arg) M.Div (USA) Reg. Psychotherapist (CA) Coach (Ca)
From my earliest years, a deep-seated commitment to justice took root in me, sparked by the passion of a Harvard-educated lawyer portrayed by Barry Newman in the television series Petrocelli. This attorney, forsaking the allure of Wall Street wealth, dedicated himself to serving the voiceless and underserved, often for a symbolic one-dollar fee. This childhood inspiration propelled me to pursue a legal career at the University of Buenos Aires to become a criminal lawyer at the age of 22. Although my professional journey led me through roles as an actor and ordained minister, culminating in my current roles as a psychotherapist and coach, I never strayed from my passion to protect the innocent and champion justice whenever needed.
Over the last few decades, I have intentionally immersed myself in the realm of domestic violence and abuse, driven by a conviction that, while understanding the roots of such actions in the trauma and pain of the perpetrators, we must stand firm to halt the cycle of violence and protect the victims. Though navigating this work while victims are still ensnared within the power dynamics of abuse is delicate and perilous, it brings extraordinary fulfillment to assist someone in breaking free. In rare cases, I've had the privilege of aiding abusers in turning their lives around.
Given my background as a criminal lawyer, minister, and specialized psychotherapist, it is my profound honour to support those in need, guiding them to break free from the grips of abuse and use their traumatic experiences as a catapult toward a life of fulfillment, freedom, and empowerment. The journey from victimization to liberation is undoubtedly treacherous and delicate, yet it stands as one of the most fulfilling paths one can take when breaking free from any form of abuse or violence.
Please don't hesitate to reach out, knowing that I stand ready to be in your corner, offering suggestions and guidance on how to avoid further harm and, ultimately, emerge free from the shackles of abuse or violence.

Daniel Klassen
Psychologist, Provisional, (P7619) with CAP in Alberta & Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC 19147) with BCACC, for elsewhere in Canada
Domestic abuse and violence are tragically more common than many realize—and far more common than they should be. It often begins subtly, when one person in a close relationship becomes frustrated or emotionally unsettled, and begins to mistreat the other. At first, the behavior might seem minor—cutting remarks, dismissive tones, or small acts of disrespect. But when left unaddressed, these behaviors can intensify, growing more damaging over time.
Abuse tends to follow a disturbing pattern: pain and frustration in the more powerful individual are often displaced onto the less powerful, creating a cycle of harm marked by confusion, fear, anger, and diminishing well-being for everyone involved. If this cycle continues unchecked, it can escalate into serious physical and emotional abuse—and in the most extreme cases, even torture or death.
Daniel experienced this firsthand. As a youth, he was an innocent bystander in his own home, where unresolved anger and violence ultimately led to his hospitalization. From that experience, he came to understand the madness and tragedy of this cycle—how it is fueled by unprocessed emotional pain and the absence of healthy intervention.
Today, Daniel dedicates himself to helping others break free from the chaos. Through his work, he seeks to unravel the pain and confusion at the heart of abuse, foster understanding, and guide individuals and families toward healing, freedom, and the possibility of a safer, more compassionate future.

Kate Hollowell Sheldon
Psychologist, MC, R.Psych.
I have worked with individuals who are experiencing domestic abuse and violence. I cannot work with a couple who are in the midst of engaging in abusive behaviours since that creates a safety issue for the survivor of that abuse. When I work with an individual, we focus on creating safety in their environment and within themselves, boundary creation, trauma processing, and working on building self-esteem. Abusive behaviours can involve emotional abuse or manipulation, physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect.

Are you experiencing fear when communicating with your partner? Do you consistently feel as though you must tread carefully? Have you noticed yourself questioning your own perceptions? Do you often feel powerless? Does your partner's behavior induce feelings of guilt or self-blame? These could be indicators of an abusive relationship.
Abuse manifests in various forms, including physical assault, restraint, financial manipulation, emotional manipulation, coercion regarding sexual activity, or consistent disregard. The core of abuse revolves around control and the devaluation of the victim. This can result in severe physical and psychological consequences and is inherently traumatic.
As an abused partners you can feel isolated, alone and scared. Know that I'm here for you. I'm listening and ready to help. You don't have to deal with this alone, and it's NOT your fault.
