Barbara Jaurequi Counseling
Marriage and Family Therapist, MS, LMFT, MAC
Sometimes receiving in-person therapy is impossible because of scheduling conflicts, distance or other reasons. Being able to correspond with your therapist in a written format is a wonderful alternative to in-person therapy and it has unique advantages. For example, you will have a record of what was covered in each therapy session that you can refer to after and between sessions. This will help you remain accountable and on track to achieve your therapy goals. If getting to therapy appointments is difficult, online therapy may be worth exploring. Call me and we can discuss whether online therapy would be right for you!

I have worked since 2005 with clients with depression, stress, men's issues, and other life challenges, primarily in non-profits with marginalized and underserved communities. I see people seeking support for many difficulties, including:imposter syndrome, self-esteem, boundaries, vulnerability, excessive guilt and shame, communication skills, difficulty asking for help or saying "no," and more. Reducing self-judgment will help you to make better decisions that are aligned with your core values. This will ultimately free you from negative thoughts or worries so you are more fully available for all the important things in your life.

IEMT Trauma Therapy
Hypnotherapist, C.Ht., NLP, I.E.M.T., B.T.P, Adv-EFT., CBT Specialist
I am a Certified clinical hypnotherapist and I.E.M.T. Practitioner. This website focuses on the IEMT part of my practice.
My sessions are typically 20 to 40 minutes in duration.
The scope of this practice is to help you collapse unwanted negative memories, traumas, PTSD, and Anxiety. Basically this technique is fast and effective for most.
This technique allows a negative memory and emotion that is a problem when you think about it to finally and forever relieve itself from bothering you.
On a SUD scale (Subjective Unit Determination) 0 to 10 - and 10 is the absolute worst - and your issue, when you think about is at least a 7, allow me the opportunity to help you bring that down to a manageable level. It no longer will interfere with your every day life and often times clients cannot even remember what the issue was or it becomes so distant that it is no longer relevant.
This is an eye movement technique and it is NOT emdr. It isn't even similar to it. The results are immediate - within a minute - and they are permanent.
Let me know if you have any questions. If I do not answer your call immediately, I will respond the moment I am available. (I am with a client if I am not answering my phone).

Phillip McCulley
Marriage and Family Therapist, MA, LMFT, CSAT
I offer secure, confidential online therapy for individuals and couples who prefer the flexibility of meeting remotely. Online therapy allows us to do meaningful, effective work together while reducing barriers like travel time, busy schedules, or geographic location. This can be especially important for clients seeking sex therapy, sex addiction therapy, or LGBTQ+ affirming care, which may not be readily available in more rural areas of Texas and California. I strive to create the same sense of connection, safety, and presence in online sessions as I do in person. For many clients, meeting from their own space helps them feel more comfortable and engaged, making it easier to stay consistent and focused on the work we’re doing together.

Long Beach is home to one of the largest Cambodian-American communities in the world — concentrated in the Cambodian Cultural District near Anaheim Street — creating significant demand for therapists with expertise in intergenerational trauma, refugee experience, and the psychological legacy of the Khmer Rouge genocide. The city also has large Latino and Black populations, a growing young professional community, and one of the busiest commercial ports in North America, with maritime and logistics workers forming part of its occupational therapy clientele. MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center and the Long Beach VA Medical Center provide institutional mental health resources, with a private practice community serving Belmont Shore, Bixby Knolls, and the East Side. Long Beach's diverse, working-class identity gives its therapy community a distinct character compared to its wealthier South Bay neighbors.
