Since the advent of the Covid pandemic all sessions have been through teletherapy - either video or phone. While the initial motivator is protection of our physical health, the practice provides increased accessibility and convenience for clients. Studies (and practice) have shown that teletherapy can be equally effective as in-person therapy.

San Diego, California therapist: Su Boudreau, LMFT, marriage and family therapist
CBT

Su Boudreau, LMFT

Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Domestic Violence Counselor
A secure online platform will be used for weekly sessions. I have found that online/telehealth therapy has been an effective and safe method to meet with clients which provides its own unique benefits, such as the convenience of being at home or at work for clients to help manage busy schedule, financial and time saving from reduced traveling needs, as well as health conscious people. Therapy services utilizing telehealth mode showed in research studies with increased attendance and treatment outcome. Telehealth's another key benfit is the ability to provide the quality service/Clinician unbound by geographical locations. The availability of online therapy expand the opportunity to meet the service needs for more people with personal, practical limitations. For example, Bipolar is when someone is experiencing extreme polar emotional fluctuations at different times. We all can experience opposite emotional experiences that can be a part of life. It is up to the clinicians to examine whether your symptoms are clinically significant or not. When it is diagnosed, it often necessitates medication treatment along with psychotherapy as it is one of the most difficult conditions to treat without medication in severe to moderate presentations. It is also one of highly complex diagnoses that a master's level educated licensed marriage and family therapists and social workers, for example, are not typically expected to diagnose bipolar disorder. At the Practice, the skilled practitioner/Clinician is available who's been experienced with identifying such complicated symptoms in a much shorter period as well as to provide effective clinical treatment and recommendations. Researches found that it takes about 10 years for someone to be properly diagnosed with complicated diagnosis, such as bipolar from the time the person first contact a mental health service for help. They are commonly misdiagnosed with depression. That is a 10 year of wasted life, energy, deteriorated relationships, and reduced productivity/income on someone. I highly recommend contacting the office asap if you suspect that you have the related and/or other various symptoms. Starting a therapy journey is an investment in one's future life. It will take time, conscious and even financial committment for at least next 3 to 6 months for most people. Just like many aspects in life, the commitment to work on making the necessary changes in yourself is the requirement to see effective results in therapy. Those who are committed in the process and ready will leap the rewards. The practice wants to hear from those who are ready for making the positive changes!

Tracey Kiernan

Marriage and Family Therapist, MA, AMFT
You don’t have to keep holding it all together on your own. I offer online therapy for women and couples who look like they’re managing life well on the outside—but internally feel overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or not quite like themselves. Many of my clients are navigating high-functioning anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, relationship struggles, and major life transitions, including perimenopause. Virtual therapy with me is not a watered-down version of in-person work—it’s focused, effective, and designed to create real change. From the comfort of your own space, we’ll work to help you feel more grounded in your body, clearer in your mind, and more connected in your relationships. If you’re in a relationship, online sessions can help you break out of repeating conflict cycles, better understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and rebuild connection—even if things have felt stuck for a long time. My approach blends practical tools with deeper, insight-oriented work. We focus first on regulation—so you’re not just talking about your life, you’re actually able to shift how you experience it. Online therapy offers flexibility, privacy, and accessibility—without sacrificing depth. If you’re ready for support that goes beyond coping and helps you create meaningful, lasting change, I’d love to work with you.
