Dr. Walter J. Matweychuk
Psychologist, Ph.D.
People with social anxiety often have a number of self-defeating attitudes that underpin their social anxiety. First, they wrongly think they must perform perfectly well. They also usually think that they need the approval of significant others, that it is awful to experience disapproval and failure. They also tend to wrongly believe that rejection and failure prove they are inadequate as people. I teach you that yes there are practical implications of disapproval and failure, but there need not be unhealthy anxiety about these consequences. I teach healthy attitudes toward one's self, one's rejections and failures. I teach you to have a desire to be accepted by others and do well but to accept yourself unconditionally even when you are rejected and fail.

For some people, their social anxiety is largely a physical response: Their heart pounds, their palms get sweaty, they get so flooded with stress hormones that it's hard for them to think straight.
We can work together to teach the body how to move more efficiently through that stress so it can feel safer sooner...and better yet, start addressing the original trigger so that social situations don't need to cause such a stressful reaction to beging with.

Lora Proia/ Centered Village LLC Counseling & Therapy
Licensed Professional Counselor, NCC, LCPC, LPC, PEL
As a therapist specializing in social anxiety, I help clients navigate the fear of judgment, rejection, or embarrassment that can make everyday interactions feel overwhelming. Social anxiety often hides behind avoidance, perfectionism, or self-criticism—and my role is to gently uncover those patterns and replace them with confidence, self-compassion, and practical coping tools.
Using a blend of cognitive-behavioral techniques, exposure work, and emotional regulation strategies, I support clients in building comfort with social situations at their own pace. Whether it's speaking up in meetings, attending social events, or simply making eye contact, I offer a safe space to practice, reflect, and grow. My goal is to help individuals reconnect with others—not through forced performance, but through authentic presence.

Resilient Mind Integrative Therapy, PLLC
Psychologist, Psy.D.
Social anxiety can make even ordinary interactions feel overwhelming—worrying about what others think, replaying conversations, fearing judgment for simply being yourself, or feeling like one wrong word or gesture could change how people see you. It can lead to isolation, exhaustion, and self-criticism that slowly chip away at your confidence. I understand this not only through my work with clients but also from personal experience. For years, social anxiety shaped how I saw myself and moved through the world, so I know how painful and limiting it can feel—and how possible it is to find relief.
I bring sincerity and transparency to our work so you’re never left wondering what I’m thinking, helping you feel more at ease in therapy. Together, we’ll create a safe, supportive space to understand where your anxiety comes from and what keeps it going. We’ll work to challenge unhelpful thought patterns, strengthen self-compassion, and build confidence in social situations—so you can feel more comfortable, authentic, and connected in your relationships and everyday life.
