New York City, New York therapist: Paula Kirsch, licensed clinical social worker
Gottman Method

Paula Kirsch

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, CST
Online therapy isn't a compromise. For the kind of work I do, it's often the better choice. When you're talking about the most personal parts of your life, desire, intimacy, identity, relationship dynamics, being in your own space matters. You're more comfortable, more yourself, and often more open than you'd be in a waiting room and an unfamiliar office. That's not a small thing. It's actually the whole thing. I work with individuals and couples navigating sexual concerns, intimacy issues, desire mismatches, and relational disconnection across New York, Connecticut, and Michigan. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Sex Therapist, and I bring genuine curiosity and deep clinical training to every session. Nothing you bring here will shock me or get pathologized. Sessions are secure, HIPAA-compliant, and available within about a week of reaching out.

Multicultural couples and families navigating culture clashes, estrangement, faith transitions, and sexual and intergenerational trauma, especially for BIPOC populations, are treatment specialties. Psychedelic psychotherapy preparation and integration are also available with referrals to clinics and others who can provide medication administration. Psychological assessment to clarify diagnoses such as autism, bipolar disorder, ADHD, etc., Independent Medical Evaluations (IME), worker’s compensation, preemployment for first responders, and fitness-for-duty-evaluations are also offered. Approaching patients with cultural humility is a core value at Malak Psychology honoring who you are, your ancestors, and the indigenous land we occupy. Grounded in decolonizing mental health, liberation, and feminist psychologies, my practice employs multimodal approaches, including dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, cognitive processing therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, somatic experiencing, emotionally focused couples therapy, Gottman, family systems, psychoanalysis, and more. I believe that one of the bravest things you can do is to begin to understand your own story. From this understanding and processing of your unique story, you can let go of traumas that control you, anxiety and depression road blocks, bad relationships, and overall the emotional pain that may prevent you from living a happy and fulfilling life that gets you excited to wake up to everyday. I want you to be free of that pain so that you can find meaning, excitement, and purpose in work, friendships, relationships, family, and really ALL areas of your life. You DESERVE this and I'm here to help you on this healing journey you deserve! So what is it like working with me? Therapy should not be a one-sided conversation and I'm definitely not a smile-and-nod therapist. I want to work collaboratively WITH you and I can promise that I am as real as it gets. You may hear me swear (haha), laugh hard with you, and just be my authentic self. For you to be real with me, I also need to be real too! I will work hard with you and to HEAR and SEE you starting your journey of healing. I work with most mental health concerns and have specialize in trauma recovery, working with LGBTQ+ individuals, relationship counseling, college mental health, and ADHD and Autism assessment just to name a few. I can usually get you in same week. Check out my website and lets connect!

Center for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness

Psychologist, PhD, JD
At the Center for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness, we believe everyone can benefit from therapy. From the time we’re young, we’re taught how to take care of our physical health and our bodies, but we’re not generally taught how to manage our thoughts and emotions so we can take care of our mental wellbeing. Many people never seek psychological help, and others may only seek it when they are experiencing a crisis. We aim to change this. We believe that investing in your psychological health is essential to overall wellbeing, no matter your life circumstances. Life is challenging, and everyone can use support. We believe in providing care across the spectrum of psychological health, and in fostering mental and emotional wellbeing in addition to treating mental illness. We believe strongly in providing only evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapies: therapy that has proven to be effective through copious research studies. We also employ only doctoral-level clinicians who are highly trained experts in providing these evidence-based services.

Psychologist, Licensed Psychologist, Certified Gottman Couples Therapist, Senior Gottman Trainer and Consultant.
I specialize in providing Gottman Couples Therapy Weekend Intensives in-person or video (Fri. 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm, Sat. and Sun. 9:30 am to 4:00 pm with 1 hr lunch break both days). That's one couple with one therapist (me) for an entire weekend. If you see me in-person or video for an Intensive I can also offer you, for an additional charge, follow-up video or in-person 80 min. weekday monthly (or more frequent if needed) sessions to avoid relapse and to keep you making the positive progress that most couples report that they make in their Intensive. Many couples decide to take a hybrid approach: traveling to see me in-person in an intensive weekend in Henderson/ Las Vegas NV and enjoying time away in Las Vegas. After returning home they can schedule regular 80 min. video sessions usually monthly to avoid relapse if they live in a PsyPact state. My weekend hours are exclusively reserved for Intensives only.

Gayle MacBride

Psychologist, PhD, LP
You may be the person everyone depends on. The one who performs, leads, manages, and keeps going no matter what. From the outside, you look capable and composed. But inside, you feel exhausted, anxious, disconnected, overwhelmed, or unable to sleep. What used to feel manageable now feels impossible. You are tired of white-knuckling your way through a life that looks successful on paper, but feels unsustainable in reality. I’m Dr. Gayle MacBride, a licensed psychologist with more than 20 years of clinical experience. I work with high-achieving adults navigating burnout, insomnia, relationship strain, trauma, and relentless internal pressure. Many of my clients have already tried pushing through on their own. They are not looking for generic advice or passive therapy. They want experienced, evidence-based care that is practical, strategic, and built for meaningful change. My approach is direct, compassionate, and active. We identify what is driving the distress, define clear goals, and use a structured plan to help you move forward. Depending on your needs, I draw from CBT for anxiety and depression, CBT-I for insomnia, Prolonged Exposure and CPT for trauma, and Gottman-informed skills for relationship concerns. For couples who feel unsure whether to stay together, separate, or recommit, I also offer Discernment Counseling. This is therapy designed to help you sleep better, think more clearly, feel more grounded, and function in a way that is effective and sustainable. I offer telehealth for clients in 40+ states, and in-person visits for people in the Southern Metro of Minneapolis. If you are ready to stop performing wellness and start making real changes, I’m here to help.
