Kevin Ruddell
Psychologist, M.A., R. Psych
Anger is an emotion that we experience when we feel/perceive something unwanted has occurred. These may be realistic concerns, but they may also be unrealistic. Either way, anger can be a healthy emotion, as it illustrates something is not going as we desire. When we are unable to properly express or process the anger is when it becomes an issue.

Karen Davaz
Counsellor/Therapist, Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC)
As a Health & Wellness Coach and Registered Therapeutic Counsellor, I help clients understand the roots of their anger and learn healthier ways to respond when emotions run high. Together, we explore triggers, develop self-awareness, and practice tools such as mindfulness, grounding, and effective communication to regain a sense of control. My approach is compassionate and non-judgmental, creating a safe space for you to release tension, reduce conflict, and rebuild positive relationships.

Shelley Hanna Psychology
Psychologist, MACP Registered Psychologist
Anger can be understood as a protective emotion, and also a reactive solution to unidentified triggers and problem thinking. Our approach is to gently uncover the true need below the surface, and manage any triggers with appropriate healing therapies.

To help people manage anger, one approach I often use to guide sessions is called Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (or CBT). It tends to be a shorter-term, situation-oriented, and present-focused approach, that for example helps people see the difference between thoughts and feelings, and in turn free themselves from unwanted patterns of behaviour. CBT is grounded in the belief that it is a person’s perception of events – rather than the events themselves – that determines how he or she will feel and act in response. CBT can often help with anger and many other issues. With CBT, you’ll be able to examine and question the thoughts that influence your emotions and behavior.
If you think you would benefit from a cognitive behavioural therapy approach for anger or other issues, please contact me today. I would be happy to speak with you about how I might be able to help.
