The primary model that I use with individuals with BPD symptoms is Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. Marsha Linehan has designed this model specifically for this diagnosis. In DBT, rather than solely challenging thoughts, which is typical in the cognitive behavioural model, I incorporate mindfulness skills to help you gain awareness of what bodily responses you experience when responding to dysfunctional thoughts and emotions. I also help you learn how to express your needs without letting emotions take over.
