Bipolar Disorder causes a shift in behavior, mood and energy and is often marked by a swinging from depression to mania. This illness can be debilitating and intrusive in your life - getting help to manage symptoms can make a huge difference to your mental health.
Symptoms include:
Feeling of intense high
Feeling distracted
Sleeplessness, or reduced sleep
Rapid speech Racing thoughts or being unable to complete thoughts
Spending money excessively
Risky behaviour
Impaired behaviour such as driving erratically
Feelings of self-importance and grandiose
Lack of insight
Loss of reality
Hearing voices or psychosis
I am looking to work with clients who:
- are in the depressive state and are working through this part of their illness
- are looking to make changes to their lifestyle in order to develop a plan to reduce the risk of depression or mania
- are free from manic symptom and working towards managing symptoms
- are interested in making adjustments in order to live a more fulfilling life
I am available to work with clients who are not actively immersed in a manic state.

Victoria Jade Karra
Counsellor/Therapist, RTC, CTP, CSTS, CCFP
I support those who are seeking to increase their capacity to manage their diagnosis rather than having the diagnosis manage them. While validating the individual experience I provide skills and tools that support increased wellness. Experience working for both the Bi-polar Foundation and the Canadian Mental Health Association has provided me with additional training and expertise in working with this particular mental health challenge. A personal connection with the diagnosis has only increased my empathy and understanding of the struggles that may experienced.
