Bipolar disorder is a mental health disorder characterized by extreme mood swings, known as manic or hypomanic episodes and depressive episodes. These episodes can greatly impact an individual's ability to function in daily life and can cause significant distress.
As a therapist, I specialize in helping individuals with bipolar disorder. I use evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) which have been proven to be effective in treating bipolar disorder.
CBT is a form of therapy that helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to their symptoms. DBT is a form of therapy that helps individuals develop coping skills such as emotional regulation, mindfulness and distress tolerance, which can help them manage their emotions in a healthy way.
In therapy sessions, we will work together to understand the underlying causes of your bipolar disorder and develop strategies to manage your symptoms. We will also work on building resilience and coping skills to help you navigate through the challenges that you may face.
