St. Catharines, Ontario therapist: Emily Pollak, registered social worker
Women's Issues

Emily Pollak

Registered Social Worker, MSW, RSW
I founded Maternal Health Niagara ( est. 2017) to build a circle of support for individuals and families during the reproductive period and beyond. My clinical focus is infertility, surrogacy, pregnancy and infant loss, birth trauma, postpartum anxiety, and healing from childhood trauma. I often coach people through "guilt" and coping with the mental load of parenting. I enjoy working with birth and healthcare professionals as they navigate the intricacies of the field, and I often see other therapists. During my perinatal journey of pregnancy loss and pregnancy complications, my lived experience sparked my passion for maternal mental health. I had hyperemesis gravidarum (HG), which affected my physical and emotional wellness. From my challenges during the perinatal period, I recognized the service gap and was determined to build a circle of support for others. Combining lived experience and extensive professional skills allows me to bring my clients a unique clinical lens of empathy and validation. I am down-to-earth, nurturing and intuitive, with a realistic and accepting therapeutic style.

Burlington, Ontario therapist: Viktoria Vigh, counselor/therapist
Women's Issues

Viktoria Vigh

Counsellor/Therapist, Registered Social Worker (RSW), Certified ADHD Coach (AACC)
I have an undergraduate degree with a double major in Psychology and Women's Studies and understand women's issues in a larger social context as well as the individual psychological factors. I have taken courses in counselling women and have training in counselling approaches specifically for women. I am very aware of the issues women face day to day and the impact of society, expectations on women, and the unique life challenges that women face. Women spend a lot of time taking care of others. It is ok to take care of yourself and ask for help. Talking to someone about the things you need to sort though, and your mental health and well being is about having a sense of control in your life. My goal is to empower you so you can take charge of your wellbeing. Neurodivergent women are often misunderstood and underdiagnosed or misdiagnosed, which can leads to problem at home, in the workplace, academic settings, and relationships. It has long been assumed that neurodiversity affects men and boys so women and girls have been left in the dark. I work with many neurodivergent women and understand women's issues in this context. I would be happy to work with you to explore your specific factors and as they apply to you.
