Body image concerns can have a significant impact on someone’s wellbeing. Addressing body image in therapy will allow you to explore the origins of these concerns, the narratives that uphold these concerns and how these concerns impact you, and how you want to feel about your body moving forward. Therapy, with me, will be a safe space where you can explore the different emotions associated with these concerns and find ways to develop self-compassion and an alternate story that allows you to have the relationship you want with your body. Schedule a free consultation with me to see if we are a good fit.

Body dissatisfaction is a painful self-image preoccupation that profoundly affects self-esteem, self-confidence and social life. It can range from feeling uncomfortable in your body to being unable to attend events because you feel ashamed of your body size and shape. While body image has typically been thought to be a problem that only affected a certain demographic, research shows that it affects people of all ages and genders. If you are self-conscious of your body, continually compare yourself to others, take a long time to find something to wear, frequently weigh or check your body, or isolate, then you understand the torment and anxiety that comes with worrying about your body image.
There are several approaches that work well for reconstructing body image including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Compassion-Focused Therapy. We work from an inclusive, trauma-informed approach to help you understand your relationship with your body. We believe that every body is unique and therefore perfect. We will help you address the negative thinking caused by body dissatisfaction.
If you have been dealing with body image preoccupation for too long, please reach out for a free consultation. We would be happy to talk about how we can help.
