Elizabeth, Pennsylvania therapist: Dr. Noel S. Maurizi, psychologist
Female

Dr. Noel S. Maurizi

Psychologist, PsyD.
I am a licensed psychologist with a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree, specializing in comprehensive psychological assessment and diagnostic clarification. I offer virtual psychological evaluations for adults seeking a better understanding of their cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning, with a particular focus on ADHD, executive functioning difficulties, and complex diagnostic presentations. One of my primary areas of interest is identifying ADHD in adults, particularly women who may have gone undiagnosed or misdiagnosed for much of their lives. ADHD does not always present in the stereotypical ways we have historically been taught to recognize. Many individuals, especially women, develop sophisticated compensatory strategies, mask their difficulties, or internalize symptoms that may be mistaken for anxiety, depression, perfectionism, or personality-related concerns. These patterns can become more noticeable during major life transitions, periods of increased responsibility, or hormonal changes associated with menstruation, pregnancy, postpartum experiences, perimenopause, and menopause. My assessment approach emphasizes the whole person rather than relying solely on test scores or symptom checklists. I integrate developmental history, clinical interviews, standardized assessment measures, and an understanding of how trauma, mood, anxiety, hormonal fluctuations, and environmental demands may influence attention, executive functioning, and emotional regulation. I also evaluate autism spectrum disorder, mood and anxiety disorders, and other overlapping clinical presentations when appropriate. I recognize that seeking an evaluation later in life can be both validating and overwhelming. My goal is to provide a thoughtful, individualized assessment experience that helps clients better understand not only whether they meet criteria for a particular diagnosis, but also why they may have experienced certain challenges throughout their lives. Through virtual psychological assessment, I strive to make diagnostic services more accessible while maintaining clinical rigor and a warm, collaborative environment. Evaluations include a comprehensive clinical interview, appropriate standardized measures, a detailed written report, individualized recommendations, and a feedback session to discuss findings and next steps. Above all, I believe psychological testing should be an opportunity for understanding, not simply labeling. Whether an evaluation confirms ADHD or identifies other contributing factors, my goal is to help individuals leave with greater clarity, self-understanding, and practical direction moving forward.

I believe that every person, no matter their circumstances or struggles, has a valiant mind. Therefore, I believe that each of my clients are the experts of their own life and that my job is to meet each client wherever they currently are on their journey and to walk alongside them in order to help facilitate growth and change. In 2004, I graduated from Chatham University with a Masters in Counseling Psychology and have since gained extensive experience in the treatment of adult and childhood psychological and neurobehavioral disorders. My sessions predominantly use cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, where I help my clients to understand how their thoughts affect their feelings and behaviors. I also use other psychotherapy techniques that provide comprehensive perspectives to my clients and enhance mind, body such as positive psychology, existentialist philosophy, and mindfulness meditation. My goal is to help my clients broaden their awareness, challenge problematic patterns, learn healthy coping skills, live mindfully and confidently, and seek their unique version of joy. Above all, I am committed to creating therapeutic relationships that are built on trust, respect, transparency, empathy, honesty, and equality, and I always counsel from a nonjudgmental place of understanding and compassion.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania therapist: Congruent Relationships Counseling & Wellness, counselor/therapist

Congruent Relationships Counseling & Wellness

Counselor/Therapist
At Congruent Relationships, we believe that the most exhausting part of life shouldn't be the effort it takes to be "you." We often move through the world wearing masks—performing for our partners, our families, or our jobs—while our internal reality feels disconnected and unseen. Our practice was founded on a simple but profound principle: congruence. It is the state where your thoughts, feelings, and actions finally align. When that harmony exists, the relationship you have with yourself transforms, and in turn, your relationships with everyone else begin to thrive. We aren't a "one size fits all" practice. We are a specialized collective of clinicians who believe that therapy is a collaborative, systemic journey. Here is why clients choose us: Relationship Experts at Heart: Led by Dr. Nick Summa, our team specializes in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). We don’t just look at individual symptoms; we look at the patterns of connection that shape your life. A Sanctuary for the LGBTQ+ Community: We are deeply committed to providing identity-affirming care. Whether you are navigating a transition, exploring poly/ENM dynamics, or seeking a space where your identity is celebrated rather than explained, you belong here. Authenticity: We’ve traded the "blank slate" therapist persona for genuine human connection. Our clinicians show up as their authentic selves so that you feel safe enough to do the same. Accessible Expertise: With physical offices in Pittsburgh and a robust online therapy platform, we bridge the gap between high-level clinical expertise and the convenience your modern life requires. We know that finding a therapist can feel like a daunting task. That’s why we offer a free 15-minute consultation. It’s a low-pressure way to see if our energy matches yours and to ensure you feel a sense of "congruence" from the very first hello. You deserve to live a life that feels honest. Let’s build it together.

Iris Bowen

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, MBA
My orientation to therapy is grounded in liberatory, strengths-based, and relational frameworks. My goal is to partner with you against that which is preventing you from creating a meaningful, value-aligned life: A life full of vitality, where you maintain a balanced connection to both your inner world and your community. I consider the material conditions (social, political, economic) around you when offering coping strategies, and aim to support your healing while holding space for any active harms or atrocities you may be experiencing (direct and indirect).
