I'm Kaijah Bjorklund, a Licensed Professional Counselor with 12 years of experience helping adults move out of survival mode and into genuine freedom. My path to this work wasn't a straight line. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as an Outward Bound wilderness instructor and counselor, studied holistic health and bodywork, and spent years developing a deep understanding of how the nervous system holds and releases pain. That whole-person foundation shapes everything I do.
I show up as my genuine self in every session — approachable, grounded, empathetic, and not easily shaken. I've heard it all, and I can help you hold it. We may laugh together, cry together, or simply sit with what's real. Whatever comes up, I'm here for it.This is an inclusive practice. My clients come from a wide range of backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ individuals and communities that are often marginalized or underserved. You don't have to edit yourself here. All of who you are is welcomed. If you're ready to stop surviving and start living,

Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
- Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: Approach Description
Healing isn't just about understanding what happened to you — it's about helping your nervous system learn that it's safe now. That's the foundation of my work.
I use an integrative, neuroscience-informed approach that draws on three core modalities:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) — I hold EMDR certification through EMDRIA and offer EMDR online, which research shows to be equally effective as in-person delivery. EMDR works by activating the brain's natural healing process to reduce the charge around traumatic memories, so they no longer run your life from the background.
IFS (Internal Family Systems) — IFS is a compassionate framework for understanding the different "parts" of yourself — the protectors, the wounded parts, the inner critics — and helping them work together rather than against you. I am trained in IFS Levels 1 and 2.
Somatic Therapy — The body keeps score. Somatic therapy works directly with the physical sensations, postures, and patterns the nervous system holds in order to create change that is felt, not just understood. My Master's degree included a somatic specialization, and I hold additional training through the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute.
These modalities are woven together with CBT, DBT skills, ACT, mindfulness, and Non-Violent Communication, tailored to what each client needs. I don't apply a one-size-fits-all model. I meet you where you are and work with the specific landscape of your experience.
The result is healing that radiates outward — as genuine confidence, presence, and freedom.

Every client receives personalized, depth-oriented care that honors the whole person — mind, body, emotions, and lived experience.
