Maria T. Alonso, Ph.D.
Psychologist
In my work as a psychologist, I support individuals through the complex and deeply personal journey of loss and grief with empathy and care. I use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients process their emotions and challenge any unhelpful thought patterns that may arise during their grieving process. I also incorporate techniques from narrative therapy to help individuals make sense of their loss and integrate it into their life story. My approach is warm and supportive, providing a safe space for clients to express their feelings and memories. By working collaboratively with each person, I assist them in finding meaning, adjusting to life changes, and eventually discovering a sense of hope and healing. My goal is to help clients navigate their grief in a way that honors their experiences while supporting their path towards emotional recovery, personal growth and resilience.

Jenna Sackman - Online/Virtual Therapy
Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHC, LPC
*Free Consultation* One of the hardest truths to accept is that everything and everyone is impermanent. Loss is devastating, whether it's the loss of a loved one, a job, or a relationship, but it is an inevitable part of life and one with which we can learn to accept and experience without prolonging our suffering. I work to help clients differentiate between pain and suffering and gain the necessary insight and tools to honor and express their pain without allowing it to derail and control them. While supporting you during your process of healing and acceptance, we will work to help you manage feelings and reactions to a death or significant loss. I offer a 15 min free consultation, so please reach out to see if we're a good fit!

Len Ramsay
Registered Psychotherapist, Gestalt Therapist , M.B.A.
Every act of embracing something new involves the letting go of something old. Loss denied and grief disallowed are the roadblocks against vitaity. Safety and trust are the foundations that allow the acceptance of loss and the experience of grief and protect against the horrible distortions that can result from defense against the completion of experience.

Cicek Erdem
Psychologist, PhD
Grief can feel disorienting and deeply lonely, especially when life continues moving around you. Whether you are mourning the loss of a loved one, relationship, pregnancy, role, sense of self, or imagined future, grief can affect every part of life—relationships, sleep, identity, work, and emotional wellbeing. There is no “right” way to grieve, and painful emotions often arrive in unexpected ways. Therapy can offer a compassionate space to process loss, make meaning of difficult experiences, and feel less alone in what you are carrying.

Katherine Rabinowitz
Licensed Psychoanalyst, LP, M.A., NCPsyA
Grief and loss are almost impossible to write about. You've lost someone or something. Perhaps a loved one, a relationship, a status in your chosen field, a lifestyle you once enjoyed. Most of the time the grief I see in patients who come to my office have lost someone who used to play a large part of their life. A family member. a close friend, someone you thought you'd spend the rest of your life with.
There's no timeline for grief. There are no set "stages" to have to pass through and check off the list. It takes as long as it takes to get through it. I once worked with someone who lost a dear friend to suicide. It was unthinkable, and the pain seemed too much to bear. After a certain point she felt she "should be over it." In fact some people even said that to her. No. You don't "just get over it." You grieve. There's a hole in your life that seems unfillable, and sometimes it is. But that doesn't mean you have to forget about it, or don't get to move on with the other parts of your life.
If it was a relationship, and the issue was someone bailed on you, ghosted you, cheated on you, wants to divorce you, that, too, needs a period of time to grieve the loss. In some cases reconciliation is possible, others not. Together we work on what's realistic, how to accept your loss, and to understand you are allowed to grieve as long as you need to.
