Dr. Hiyaguha Cohen

Counselor/Therapist, Ph.D., LPCA, MA, MFA
I love that technology allows me to reach people who can't make it into the office. Distance counseling is so convenient and usually as effective as meeting in person. If you don't want to have to travel for an appointment, if you want to be spared exposure to illness, if you simply feel more secure at home--distance counseling is a great solution. The system I use is HIPAA compliant, meaning that what happens in the session is completely private, encrypted, and protected.

I am certified by PSYPACT for Interjurisdictional (Interstate) Telepsychology practice. I use HIPAA-compliant secure video conferencing, and most testing can be performed online as well. I have found that a video conference, in which masks are not needed, allow us to make more real connections than mask-to-mask in the office. Facial expressions can be read and responded to much more effectively in video conference, compared to wearing masks.
