At times we all find ourselves in situations that we think no one else will understand. It’s easy to self-sabotage and self-criticize when you have no one to talk to. We often find ourselves putting up barriers instead of boundaries and unintentionally blocking those that want to help us. Therapy allows us to self-reflect, feel empowered, and increase our happiness. My approach is strengths-based. I believe we all have strengths that will allow positivity to come from our experiences. I bring the same warmth and presence to our digital space as I would in person, ensuring our sessions feel like a true human connection rather than just a video call. From the comfort of your own couch, we’ll create a secure, private environment where you can feel fully seen and heard. Together we will build skills to overcome negative feelings and emotions so that you can become the version of yourself that you want to be. You've taken a courageous step by seeking a way forward. I'm here to help you unlock your potential. There's a path toward empowerment and happiness awaiting you. I'm here to guide and support you every step of the way. Let's start this empowering journey toward a more confident and secure version of yourself. Reach out today, and let's begin.

In today's world many of us find ourselves struggling with emotional overload. As life becomes inundated by negative experiences through media representation and personal experience. We may notice a loss of motivation or even possibly a loss of positive experiences. Eventually we may loose hope in who we are and who we wish to become. When overloaded by strong emotions, hopelessness begins to creep in. Hopelessness can feel unbearable as it restricts functioning and ability to enjoy life. Our happiness and excitement can quickly become extinguished by the anger, fear, sorrow, and intense sadness we feel. I have found myself caught. In hopelessness at times. I often think how was I able to find my way out of the darkness while others never do. I realize it came down to finding inspiration in others, who were holding my hope until I took it back for myself. This is my story, yours can result in hope too! Your journey may begin with hopelessness, but that doesn't define your life story. My online practice is designed to ensure that support is accessible exactly when and where you need it most. Though we meet through a screen, I strive to provide a high-definition, secure experience that maintains a deep sense of human connection, ensuring you never have to carry the weight of hopelessness alone, regardless of your location. Everything I do is driven from my goal to instill hope. I will always hold hope for you as we work together even in the times when it is difficult for you to find that confidence in yourself. It doesn't matter your story, you are always worthy of hope, compassion , and empathy. I am here holding hope for you regardless of things you said or did.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, CST, PhD
I provide therapy for gay men and hold licenses in New Jersey, New York, and Utah. Many gay men worry that a therapist might not fully understand their experiences or that they’ll have to hide parts of themselves in session. I once shared those same concerns, and they’re what inspired me to become a therapist who offers affirming, authentic care. Together, we’ll create a supportive, judgment-free space where you can find clarity, growth, and the confidence to live more fully. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, trained at Columbia University, with additional certification as a sex therapist through AASECT and advanced relationship training from The Couples Institute. Over the past two decades, I’ve supported gay men in a variety of settings—including the NYC LGBT Community Center and Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC).

Portland, Oregon therapist: Wendy Jensen LCSW, licensed clinical social worker
CBT

Wendy Jensen LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Hypnotherapist, Diplomate Comprehensive Energy Psychology
My initiation into healing arts probably began as a child when I was blessed with experiencing a variety of paranormal events that helped me to learn and trust clairaudient and clairvoyant communication with spirit. My formal initiation began in 1996 in Portland, Oregon when I began studying Shamanic Healing though the Foundation For Shamanic Studies. I have trained with Sandra Ingerman in Soul Retrieval techniques and with several shamanic practitioners incorporating the healing energies of nature, doing divination work and teaching others to learn to do shamanic journey work. In 1998, I began training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). It was here, that I really began to understand how the body stores traumatic material subconsciously, that the physical body can manifest that stored material in physical and emotional disease and that the body can release that stored memory and it’s subsequent effects given the opportunity and assistance with proper techniques. In 1999, Wendy began training in Dynamic Energetic Healing™, a powerful protocol that encompasses a variety of healing modalities drawn from the Energy Psychology field. Energetic Healing focuses on helping clients to identify negative emotions, limiting beliefs and old traumas held in the energetic pathways of the body, explore the origins or root causes of these disturbances that may have occurred in current or past life or carried through on an ancestral linage and then release them. Since then I have studied and certified in a variety of Energy Pyschology techniques such as Emotional Freedom Technique, Tapas Accupressure Technique, Healing from the Body Level Up, and many more. I am a Diplomate in Comprehensive Energy Psychology since 2004. In 2006 Wendy completed a 2 year intensive training with the Wellness Institute in Heart Centered Hypnotherapy. And in 2019, she completed the Essentials training in RIM (Regenerating Images in Memory) These trainings utilize the clients wise intuitive self along with guided prompts from the therapist to bring into consciousness, then clear and heal the past trauma memories still carried in the mind and body. I holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology, a Master of Science degree in Social Work, Certifcations in Hypnotherapy and Energy Psychology and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been in private practice since 1995. Since Covid-19 arrived in March 2020, I have held all session remotely via Zoom or Phone and has found teletherapy to be widely used, accepted and actually preferred by many of my cllents who report that they are able to do even deeper work from the safety of their own homes and not have to compartmentalize or shut off the deep work in order to go out and drive back home or to their workplace.
