Suzanna Freerksen
Psychiatrist, MD
As a psychiatrist I am comfortable with prescribing medications as well as therapy. My psychiatry practice is focused on you and how you can best achieve your goals, whether that is medication, psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, or a combination of all three. Let's work together to help you get 'unstuck'.
In session we will talk about thoughts and feelings in addition to medication. I am experienced in CBT and group therapy, as well as the medical treatment of nightmares and bipolar disorder. I am also trained in EMDR and DBT, as well as ketamine assisted psychotherapy (KAP). I am knowledgeable about medicines and illness with breastfeeding, and pregnancy.

Louise Perry
Registered Psychotherapist, IFS UKCP HCCP BAAT
I work as an integrative art psychotherapist and IFS practitioner, offering a thoughtful and collaborative way of working. Therapy with me doesn’t need to involve art unless it feels useful; some sessions focus on conversation, while others may use images, objects, or simple creative materials to explore experiences that are difficult to put into words.
Before training as a psychotherapist, I spent many years working in design and technology. That background continues to shape how I work – I’m interested in patterns, systems, and how different parts interact, both internally and in our wider lives. My decision to retrain grew out of lived experience as well as professional curiosity, and I bring both into the therapy room.
I work in an engaged, grounded way, staying close to what matters and adjusting pace as needed. Clients often come to me when they want to understand themselves more clearly, work with complexity rather than bypass it, and make changes that feel considered and sustainable.

Amy L. Holdbrooks, LLC
Counselor/Therapist, MA, NCC, ALC, BSW
Many believe expressing your feelings is a sign of weakness, creating a stigma surrounding mental health. However, the exact opposite is true! Knowing when to ask for help shows courage, strength, and wisdom. Physical and emotional health are tightly intertwined. When we know precisely what is wrong, we can face the problem head-on, allowing us to see firsthand that knowledge is power!
I was first introduced to depression and anxiety through a wiry, slightly rumpled, highly cantankerous psychology professor when I was only 19 years old. I will never forget that lecture as long as I live. As he presented the 'day’s topic,' he peered intently around the room as if he could read our very thoughts. Then, he threw down his book and left the room without warning, leaving us there in stunned silence. After what seemed like an hour (probably only five minutes), he returned with 25 lb. weights strapped to each arm and leg and a pack filled with two 50 lbs. fastened to his back. As he began to lecture, he proceeded to pace up and down each row of the classroom. He was not a young man, and as he talked, he became winded and was forced to stop and catch his breath. He was an excellent orator, by history, but on this day, he seemed entirely out of his comfort zone. He was confused, preoccupied, stressed, and somewhat fragile. As the class concluded and we began to slowly make our way to the door, the professor said, “Oh, and by the way, living with depression and anxiety is much like trying to do a simple daily task with over 200 lbs. of weight strapped to your very soul. Now, go and have a good evening.”
Having struggled with depression and anxiety throughout my adult life, and now as a counselor, I will have to say that the professor’s illustration was prophetically spot on! In fact, it was brilliant!

Mobile is Alabama's only seaport and one of the Gulf Coast's oldest cities, with a Creole heritage and Mardi Gras tradition that predate New Orleans's celebrations — giving it a cultural richness distinct from most Alabama cities. The city has a large African American population and a significant community connected to the healthcare and aerospace sectors, including Airbus's US manufacturing base. University of South Alabama and USA Health provide both institutional mental health resources and clinical training programs that feed into the local therapy community. Mobile's strong faith community and conservative Southern culture mean spiritually integrated therapy is widely available, and therapists who can work within diverse religious frameworks find broad acceptance across the city's varied neighborhoods.
