Inner Wisdom Counselling and Art Therapy (Tracey Gramm)

Counsellor/Therapist, RTC, EXAT, FOT, CDP
Children may be facing bullying, shyness, anxiety, underachievement in school, divorce, or mental health issues that warrant seeing a professional. As a Surrey based play therapist, I can walk you through lifestyle challenges and disruptions to aid your child on his/her journey. Children often struggle with talk therapy - this is where Play Therapy can be of much use and help. We use the imagination and the creative arts to assist kids in emotional regulation, emotional intelligence and finding a balance so that they can become more fully adjusted. Art therapy and play therapy can assist with excessive worry, emotional overreactions, difficulty concentrating, aggression, moodiness, social difficulties, isolation, suicide ideation and excessive sadness. As a Surrey / Langley therapist that specializes in Child or Adolescent Issues, I work with you to facilitate success and adjustment to life's difficulties. Contact me at 778-389-9234 or tgramm@gmail.com to see how Play Therapy can help your Child or Adolescent.

I have a deep affinity with this struggle in life, having been naturally drawn to people who have had these traumatic experiences. Find compassion for the self, and forgiveness for your abusers. I also understand that PTSD that past traumas can create for the survivor of childhood trauma.

Have you been feeling worthless lately or "not good enough?" Do you sometimes feel like no matter how hard you try, you can't seem to live up to your and other people's standards? If so, you are not alone. Child and adolescent struggles often involve issues around self-esteem due to feeling inadequate or "not good enough". Individuals with low self-esteem often have an intense fear of being judged. Their thoughts typically involve beliefs around incompetence or inadequacy, and some may even believe that they are defective. These harsh self-judgments often interfere with the ability to live a fulfilling life largely due to avoiding new behaviours that may re-affirm feelings of incompetence or inadequacy. In therapy, I help clients gain insight into some of the thoughts and emotions that prevent the establishment of self-worth and self-love. Through various therapeutic approaches, including cognitive restructuring and a focus on values-oriented work, we work collaboratively to help move away from self-defeating behaviours, such as avoidance, and closer toward experiences that promote healing.
