Men’s Issues

Ida Uzelman

Counsellor/Therapist, MPCC-P, RTC
Life can bring unique challenges for men—pressure to perform, manage emotions, or meet expectations at work, home, and in relationships. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where men can explore these challenges openly, develop healthy coping strategies, and build confidence in navigating life’s pressures. Whether it’s stress, anxiety, relationship struggles, or self-esteem concerns, my goal is to support men in finding balance, resilience, and a sense of purpose that aligns with who they truly are.

Tangled Minds Psychotherapy

Registered Psychotherapist, MA, RP, RCC
It can feel like a bewildering time to be a man the last few years. Whether it's intense career pressure in a shaky economy, trying to figure out how to be a good father and a breadwinner, struggling with addictions like pornography, or figuring out how to do this 'expressing you're emotions' thing men are always being told to do, it can feel impossible. Behavioural therapy offers a clear path forward. Analyze the problem - understand it's root, and map out the mechanisms from trigger points to emotions to thoughts and to actions. Find intervention points, and create clear, do-able, trackable practices. This can be things like challenging our thoughts, creating new stories about ourselves, breathing exercises, or lifestyle changes. Make clear, concrete goals for change, and if we don't hit the mark, figure out why, and keep trying. Yes - it would be easiest if you could do this all yourself. If that was possible, you wouldn't be reading this. My role as a therapist is to keep you accountable, provide clear guidance coming from years of experience helping men reach their goals, and to - when needed - challenge your thinking and actions in a way that friends and family can't. We start with a free 15 minute consult to make sure it would be a good fit, go over the problem, ask questions, and review of a brief treatment plan. Therapy is a big commitment. It's worth it.

Vancouver, British Columbia therapist: Bill Arbuckle, therapist
Men’s Issues

Bill Arbuckle

Therapist, MCP, RCC
A lot of men come to therapy having spent years being told, directly or indirectly, to push through or "suck it up," stay stoic and composed no matter what, and figure it out alone. By the time they reach out, they're often exhausted and not entirely sure what they're even supposed to say. I work with men in a space where none of that performance is required. No judgment, no script. Just an honest conversation about what's actually going on and where you want to go.
