Nightingale Counselling
Counsellor/Therapist, RCC, MSW
At Nightingale Counselling, we believe that healing is not something a therapist does to a client, but something that emerges from the quality of the relationship between them. Grounded in scientific research, counselling theory, and clinical experience, our approach helps people access their own innate capacity for change, whether they are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, or the weight of emotions that have long felt out of control. We serve individuals, couples, and families across a wide range of backgrounds, identities, and life circumstances, and we are committed to creating a space where every person who walks through our doors feels met with genuine empathy, cultural competence, and the kind of non-judgmental presence that makes honest conversation possible. Because we know that no single practitioner can serve all people, our diverse group practice exists to ensure that whoever you are and whatever you are carrying, there is someone here who is the right fit for you.

Freedom of Expression Counselling
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, MSW, RCSW, T.S., RPT, CPT
Everyone one has their own life experiences that have been undergone in their own way. I recognize uniqueness in everyone's life and that they have a deep need witnessed and honored in those experiences. My practice is about creating space for every individual's unique feelings, circumstances, and experiences without judgement or interpretation. We collaborate to find the deepest meanings within those experiences and we use that to find direction as how we would like to close a chapter or grow next. Healing from experiences is through finding meaning in them and integrating them into ourselves thereby enabling us to live deeper and more enriching lives.

Bonny Kaman Li
Counsellor/Therapist, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), MACP
I became a therapist because I know what it's like to need to rebuild — not just once, but repeatedly, across displacement, across countries, across versions of myself I had to leave behind to survive what came next. That experience shapes almost everything about how I practice today.
I don't believe therapy should feel like something done to you. I see it as a genuine collaboration — you bring your lived experience, I bring my clinical training, and we figure things out together. With your permission, I'll sometimes offer a different way of seeing something: this is what I notice — what do you think? If you see it differently, that's completely fine. We explore from there. Nothing gets handed down as fact.
A lot of the people I work with have already done real work elsewhere. They know their diagnoses, they've learned the coping skills, they can explain their patterns fluently — and it still hurts. That's usually exactly where we begin.
Before I became a therapist, I spent over a decade in the legal field and in ADHD coaching, which means I bring a slightly different lens to trauma, family conflict, and neurodivergence than clinicians who've only trained in one world. I also work with two therapy dogs, Emma and Evee, who often make the room feel safer than words alone can.
If you're the person everyone else relies on, and you're quietly wondering who's supposed to hold you — I'd like to help with that.

Surrey is one of Metro Vancouver's most populous and rapidly growing cities, with a large and diverse immigrant population — particularly from South Asia, the Philippines, and East Africa — creating strong demand for culturally competent and multilingual therapists who understand the pressures of settlement, family expectations, and bicultural identity. The city faces significant challenges around substance use, gang-related trauma, and concentrated poverty in some neighbourhoods, and therapists specializing in addiction recovery and community mental health serve an important role. Surrey Memorial Hospital provides institutional mental health resources, with a growing private therapy community reflecting the city's expanding population. Many Surrey residents access care through the wider Metro Vancouver ecosystem via transit and telehealth.
