Registered Psychotherapist, Masters of Counselling, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Using somatic therapies, I help clients with a history of Trauma, PTSD and CPTSD, work with current symptoms that are interfering with their ability to live the lives they want. Using a good deal of psycho-education as well as experiential training around the brain-body connection and body calming exercises, I help clients build a tailor made tool kit for addressing the lingering affects of trauma.
Living with trauma is exhausting. It often leaves people feeling constantly on edge, overwhelmed, misunderstood and under supported. I work with trauma clients to help them to process what has happened in the past, cope with what they are experiencing in the present and look forward to building and maintaining a stable healthy future. I draw on psychodynamic, somatic, cognitive processing and narrative theories and approaches. You can contact me to schedule a free consultation to determine if I am the best fit for you.

My approach to trauma treatment is rooted in Expressive Arts Therapy (EXAT), recognizing that trauma, particularly pre-verbal trauma, often resides in the body beyond the reach of traditional talk therapy. EXAT offers a unique and powerful way to access and process these deeply held experiences.
Key aspects of our work include:
Utilizing multiple artistic modalities to bypass cognitive defenses and access implicit memories
Engaging the body's wisdom through movement, sound, and visual expression
Addressing pre-verbal trauma through non-verbal, sensory-based interventions
Integrating "brain-wise" arts-based techniques to support trauma reparation and recovery
EXAT provides a safe, non-threatening avenue for expressing and processing traumatic experiences that may be difficult or impossible to verbalize. Through creative expression, we work to release trapped emotions, reframe traumatic narratives, and restore a sense of safety and control.
This approach is particularly effective for:
Childhood trauma and developmental trauma
Complex PTSD
Somatic symptoms related to trauma
Dissociative disorders
The goal is to help clients reconnect with their bodies, regulate their nervous systems, and integrate fragmented aspects of their experiences. By engaging multiple senses and tapping into the body's innate healing capacity, EXAT offers a holistic path to trauma recovery and resilience.
In addressing trauma and PTSD, I utilize mindfulness-based interventions to help clients anchor themselves in the present, reducing the intensity of traumatic memories and flashbacks. This approach fosters a sense of safety and control, enabling individuals to process their experiences at their own pace.
As a trauma and attachment specialist I am honour to work clients,I understand that it takes to be brave and courages to open and deal with the deepest wounds one has experienced, and requires that a therapist goes beyond compassion and good intentions but well educated experienced in the field of trauma to support clients in addressing the significant changes and disruptions from the aftermath of trauma.
