I offer compassionate, evidence-based therapy to help you navigate and overcome depression. My approach focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of your depression, providing you with practical tools to manage symptoms, and supporting you in building resilience and a more fulfilling life. Let's work together to restore your sense of well-being and hope.
Depression doesn't always mean tears and intense sadness. It can look like sleeping way too much, or waking up and feeling like you can't sleep at all. It can feel like just not caring about anything or not wanting to be around those you love. If this sounds like you, we can use scientifically tested techniques and a supportive place where we can chat to help you feel better.

Specializing in treating individuals with depression, I focus on addressing trapped anger against oneself, such as regrets, shame, and grief. Through mindfulness-based self-compassion and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, we work together to transform the narrative of your inner critic and pave the way for a brighter future.

An important thing to remember when facing depression is that it is moveable, changeable. Depression, in my experience, can change with processing what has happened in your life and understanding your response to the impact it has had on your life. It often involves processing that which takes place between the trigger and then the natural response to avoid/get rid of or push away the pain. With a little help the awareness of feeling state can be understood; often it has to do with our relationships and learning how to stick up for ourselves and repair. This is where Mindfulness and Meditation comes in and also self-compassion. For more on self compassion; see Chris Germer and also Kristen Neff.
Depression can dim the light of hope and enjoyment in life, affecting your energy, mood, and overall perspective. Together, we'll explore the roots of your depression, working through emotions and experiences that contribute to your current state. By developing personalized coping strategies and rekindling your passions and interests, we embark on a journey toward healing and rediscovering joy. This process is about reconnecting with your inner strength and moving forward with a renewed sense of purpose and well-being.
Depression symptoms can be varied and include impacts on sleep, energy level, mood and motivation. One may feel little energy to even address the problem. Working together on small attainable goals is just one approach to address depression. Mild and moderate levels of depression are highly treatable; let me help.
I approach depression through an existential lens. We focus on your strengths and resilience. We look at what gives your life purpose and meaning. Sometimes working through depression also involves processing some past trauma.
