If untreated and unidentified stress is a human being's number one cause of major illnesses and/or death. Stress is treated firstly by developing a therapeutic relationship and then tailored to your needs after a psychoanalytical analysis where I can better understand the root cause and effects in your situation.
I work with individuals who are experiencing stress around their fertility journey. I also work with couples who are experiencing stress within their relationship

When stress goes unnoticed or pushed down in our psyche; it tends to become more intense. It requires that we be conscious of and face what is happening. That in itself can change it. Two resources for this is Elissa Epel; The Stress Prescription.
While stress typically constricts our experiences, one aim of therapy is to find more freedom—to feel, connect, think, and act with more freedom and agency in your life. Oftentimes, there are unconscious narratives or patterns underlying our stress, making it hard to get unstuck. Stress is typically rooted in a mixture of external and internal pressures that can be hard to untangle alone. Stress symptoms may even be masking other emotions or needs. Talking with someone who's curious and attuned to the fullness of your experiences can reveal some of this. My hope is that this leads to alleviated and more manageable experiences of stress. It may also shift how you approach and make sense of your daily life.
In working with you around stress, I'll want to understand your unique experiences—including what helps or doesn't help. We all register and respond to stress differently. You may feel panicked, anxious, overwhelmed, shut down, numb, or burnt out. Stress might be impacting your sleep or making you physically ill. You might seem to thrive on stress—it spurs you into productivity!—but feel it takes a toll or keeps you from experiencing life more fully. As someone who works relationally, I'll be especially attuned to how stress comes up in your relationships, including your relationship with yourself.
The surprising thing about stress is that it doesn't have to come from a difficult experience - sometimes pleasant events like starting a new job, getting married, or moving can result in the stress response.

Stress can manifest from various sources, such as work, relationships, or personal challenges, affecting your mental, emotional, and physical health. Together, we'll identify the primary sources of your stress and develop practical coping strategies to manage and reduce its effects. This journey is about enhancing your resilience, finding balance, cultivating a sense of calm and control in your life, and empowering you to navigate stressful situations more effectively.
Explore the biggest culprits of ongoing and chronic stress, and begin to build the skills that are necessary to effectively manage stress. Stress is a part of life and cannot be erased, and our bodies are designed to withstand acute stress. However, chronic and ongoing stress (the kind that is harmful to our well-being) is often caused by lifestyle, certain long-standing behavioural patterns, and a lack of effective skills in communication, coping, and emotional regulation. We will look at all of these areas to explore where change might be helpful, and to begin to learn the necessary skills and tools to manage difficult thoughts and feelings effectively, respond to the challenges of life while taking care of your own needs, and increase emotional resiliency as well as behaviours that will promote vitality.
I specialize in helping individuals manage and alleviate stress through personalized, evidence-based approaches. My goal is to identify the root causes of your stress and provide you with practical tools and strategies to build resilience and improve your overall well-being. Together, we will explore techniques such as mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and relaxation exercises to help you navigate life's challenges more effectively. Whether you're experiencing acute stress or chronic stressors, I'm here to support you in creating a balanced, fulfilling life.
