I work with motivated individuals who are looking to work towards better understanding, dealing with, and changing their lives. Clients of mine often have behaviours, thoughts, feelings, or emotions that are dysfunctional or cause them discomfort, such as feeling anxious, depressed, confused, reactive, or scattered. Many of my clients have difficulty with behaviours they feel they have no control over, such as habits or addictions, aversions, or getting easily frustrated or angry. I help my clients understand why these issues occur and help them create tools and protocols such that they can create the changes they want.

Treatment Approach
- Adlerian Therapy Focuses on understanding a person’s sense of belonging and purpose. It helps people overcome feelings of inferiority and create healthier relationships.
- Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.
- Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: I tailor my therapeutic approach to my client, their presenting issues, and their strengths. When I work with clients my primary goals are to ensure that they comprehensively understand why their problematic feelings, emotions, behaviours, and/or thoughts are occurring, and how they can effectively implement the treatment protocols we have created for them. If clients do not understand why their issues are occurring, or why a treatment works, how can they hope to have a positive effect on their therapeutic goals? I often liken this to how an engineer works.
