Zlata Kovaltchouk Practice Description
My specialty is using mindfulness training as a treatment modality, through psychotherapy (particularly ACT Therapy), mindfulness and meditation training, as well as through Yoga. Mindfulness training expands our capacity to experience difficult thoughts and feelings in such a way that they do not hijack us and get in the way of living a meaningful life. Increasing mindfulness skills also means being more present and aware in daily activities, which translates to living a more engaged, intentional, and intimate life with increased richness and vitality. Because my approach is focused on building mindfulness skills, treatment sessions tend to be more experiential than traditional talk therapy. The level of mindfulness practice in sessions will depend on each client. For those who are interested, yoga training can also be incorporated into sessions. I offer a free 20 minute consultation before we get started, to make sure there is a good fit. For convenience, I am able to see clients at two different locations: Downtown (College/Spadina), and East End (Danforth/Broadview). I can also provide counselling services via video or phone.
