I offer in-depth psychotherapy that uses the exploration of the past and present to address what's really going on in your life today that's causing the challenges you're caught in.
Think of this approach like dandelions. You can use a lawn mower and get rid of them quickly, but soon you know they will grow back. To take them out at the root takes time and is an investment. In the long-run it will be much more effective and far more sustainable.
In-depth psychotherapy is about teaching you to make sense of your own mind, so you can use it to navigate your life. It's about getting to the root of the challenges you are up against in your life so you can move forward in a sustainable way.
Growing up we learned lots about our ABC's and 123's but most of us weren't taught about our emotions and how to navigate all that goes on in our minds either consciously or unconsciously. It's often assumed we should know how to feel good, navigate all the voices in our mind and not have conflicts inside. Many of us are left thinking "what's wrong with me?" Growing up this way is like sending a child out to sea and expecting them to know how to sail and then wondering why they capsized. It doesn't feel good!
Life feels way better when we have the inner tools to understand and navigate our own mind. When we're able to make sense of our mind we can develop new ways to understand life. We're able to navigate the challenges we come up against differently so we can get unstuck from painful patterns and feeling ashamed of ourselves.
This is not a feel good quick approach. There are many of those out there and they can be very helpful at certain times in life. This work is about change from the inside out. It requires a willingness to look within and a commitment to the process and an investment in you.
