Our Virtual Reality Therapy makes use of VR headsets and software to allow clients to experience situations that are related to their anxieties or fears virtually, such as fear of driving, fear of flying, social anxiety, specific phobias and obsessions, for the purpose of treatment.
We also utilize Psious@home, a new and simple solution for remotely accessing virtual reality therapy. The forced isolation due to the spread of COVID-19 is generating a situation of additional stress in most individuals. Psious@home not only provides a means of maintaining therapeutic progress, but also guidelines for overcoming the challenges of confinement.
Virtual reality is a complementary tool for traditional therapy, with its effectiveness supported by more than 25 years of scientific research. By allowing the therapist greater control and personalization than traditional methods such as imagined exposure, virtual reality facilitates faster progress through the immersion from the comfort of your home, to mitigate the effects of anxiety and stress.
Additionally, we provide telemedicine through Doxy.me, which is a secure online platform with video conferencing, and virtual waiting room features.

Mission
As a Registered Psychotherapist, Joshua Lewis is focused on supporting individuals through a therapeutic process that seeks to restore mental and emotional wellness, provides avenues for deepening one's connection to self and others, while fostering compassionate inquiry, understanding and meaning-making into the challenging experiences that often make up a human life.
Approach
Joshua employs a psychodynamic approach that is rooted in the therapeutic relationship built between client and therapist.
This model of psychodynamic psychotherapy seeks to reveal the unconscious, dynamic content of the mind, in an effort to alleviate mental tension which can manifest in a variety of symptoms that distort and disrupt our sense of self and well-being.
By uncovering the hidden roots of our unintegrated thoughts, emotions and behaviours, we can consciously change how we experience the world and ourselves.
In addition, Joshua uses an embodied, trauma-sensitive approach that may include: Relational Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Art Therapy, Somatic Bodywork, Contemplative Psychotherapy (Mindfulness-Based and Compassion-Based Therapy.)
Issues I Work With
These approaches may be particularly helpful for those seeking to work with: Abuse, Addiction, Anxiety, Bereavement, Career/Work, Chronic Pain, Depression, Divorce Separation, Grief/Loss, Infidelity, Intergenerational Trauma, Obsessive/Compulsive Tendencies, Relationships/Family, Sexuality and Gender, Spirituality, Trauma.
My journey to becoming a therapist is rooted in my passion for social justice and a deep desire to make a meaningful impact on people's lives. Growing up in a diverse community, she witnessed firsthand the challenges marginalized individuals and families face in accessing mental health care and coping with trauma. These experiences sparked my commitment to social work and mental health advocacy. Throughout my career, Ferozan has taken on various roles that deepened my understanding of the importance of mental health care in different settings. Whether working with children in schools or adults in hospitals, she has been drawn to creating a space where individuals feel supported, understood, and empowered. My diverse professional experiences, including addiction counselling and youth advocacy, have solidified her dedication to mental health care and deepened my awareness of how trauma and systemic barriers affect well-being. My therapeutic approach is both strength-based and person-centered. I focus on helping clients harness their inner strengths and capabilities while ensuring their unique needs, perspectives, and experiences are at the forefront of the therapeutic process. This approach allows me to tailor interventions that promote resilience and foster a sense of empowerment. Ultimately, Ferozan's mission is to foster resilience, promote mental wellness, and help my clients build fulfilling lives. Whether through direct therapy or broader systemic change, she is committed to making a positive impact on mental health, providing reassurance to my clients and the broader community.
I started to offer online sessions during the COVID 19 isolation time and this approach proved to be as effective as in-person. Each online video session offers a safe space for you to let it all out, express your feelings without fear so we can identify the cause of your conflicts and work together resolving them. I realized that many people felt very comfortable and less worried when they were participating in online psychotherapy. It also gives more flexibility to those, who have busy schedules.

I offer customized treatment plans for individuals and couples facing sex addictions. My specialties include healing infidelity, sexual trauma, porn addiction, love addiction, and sex crimes. We have a unique set-up: individual sessions for each person in a relationship, and then we come together to facilitate communication and healing, offered both in-person and virtually.
Online psychotherapy offers a flexible way to integrate mental wellness into a busy schedule.
Sessions are accessible via phone or laptop device enabling client anonymity and privacy. Clients determine the private location of preference from which to receive psychotherapy services.
Regardless of whether we meet in person or virtually, the sessions are always collaborative where together we figure out the best way of helping you move towards wellness and a sense of meaning.
We have a complimentary short first meeting to explore if there is a mutual fit to work together. I prefer to have if possible one meeting in person before setting up times for subsequent therapy.
My online therapy practice has proven to be tremendously successful, particularly for those living in remote areas, and for those on a very tight time schedule. With online therapy ,clients are able to benefit from a session in the comfort of their own home, thereby saving time and the financial costs of travel. In addition, sessions are available outside normal office hours, in the evening , and on weekends. This is a different approach to in person sessions and the results are equally beneficial.
Welcome to my virtual therapy practice, I am committed to providing you with the same depth of connection, empathy, and personalized care as traditional in-person therapy, all from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
